My Name is Eric Nam Toh Suna Hi Hoga

“My name is Eric, Nam toh suna hi hoga!”

What better way for a K-pop star to open at a concert in India than to use a Shah Rukh Khan dialogue? Playing on his name, singer Eric Nam used the famous line from Dil To Pagal Hai to introduce himself at Lollapalooza India 2024.

Lollapalooza India 2024 was an extravaganza of music and culture, captivating audiences with two days of electrifying performances at the Mahalaxmi Race Course. Among the lineup of international and indie artists, one name shone brightly – Eric Nam, the South Korean-American sensation who made his Indian debut with a stellar performance that left fans craving for more. As the two-day festival came to an end, videos of his performance have been going viral, making the charismatic idol even more popular amongst his fans “Nam Nation”.

Before gracing the stage, the singer had an interview with Hello magazine. He expressed his excitement about performing in India, sharing his anticipation for the event and his admiration for Indian artists like Anuv Jain and Anirudh Ravichander. His eagerness to connect with the Indian music scene set the stage for an unforgettable performance.

Eric Nam kicked off his performance with “Sink or Swim” from his recent album “House On A Hill,” igniting the stage with his captivating presence. Hits like “You’re Sexy I’m Sexy” and “Wildfire” followed suit, further elevating the energy of the crowd and solidifying Eric’s status as a crowd favorite. Amidst the euphoria of his performance, Eric Nam welcomed his Bollywood friend and singer, Armaan Malik, to the stage, much to the delight of fans. Their joint performance of “Echoes” was a highlight of the evening.

Another little snippet that Indian fans loved was learning of his friendship with Ayushmann Khurana. Having met at the TIME100 Impact Awards in Singapore last year, the two reconnected in Mumbai when Nam flew down for the concert.

Evidently (as anyone should), Eric Nam loves Indian food!

Eric Nam’s performance at Lollapalooza India 2024 was a testament to the power of cross-cultural collaboration and growing strength of the K-pop wave in India. As the singer/actor continues to captivate audiences around the world, Eric Nam’s Indian debut paves the way for more exciting ventures in the future.
