Slow, Meaningful, and Sustainable Travel: The Shivya Way

Hey there, fellow wanderers! Welcome to “The Shooting Star” – a realm where travel is not just a journey but a transformative power that shapes lives. Get ready to be inspired by the incredible journey of Shivya Nath, a storyteller, solo traveler, and environmentalist.

Meet Shivya Nath: More than Just a Nomad

At the heart of this travel saga is Shivya Nath, a girl who dared to dream big. At the tender age of 23, she bid farewell to her 9-to-5 corporate job and set out on a mission to explore the world.

Fast forward to 2013, and Shivya took nomadism to a whole new level. She gave up her home, sold most of her belongings, and embraced a life on the road. Her journey became an example of the belief that true freedom lies in experiences, not possessions.

In 2015, a new chapter unfolded as Shivya embraced veganism. Her decision to cut out all animal products from her life wasn’t just a dietary choice; it was a conscious step towards a lifestyle that benefits animals, the planet, and her own well-being.

From Adventures to Bestsellers: The Shooting Star Unleashed

In 2018, Shivya penned down her extraordinary journey in a book titled “The Shooting Star.” This national bestseller captured a lot of hearts.

Shivya’s impact didn’t stop at writing. In 2019, she launched “The Shooting Star Collection” – sustainable travel-inspired clothing designed to fund forest growth in Uttarakhand.

Giving Back Through Storytelling

Shivya co-founded Voices of Rural India in 2020 – a platform empowering rural communities through digital storytelling.

In 2022, she joined the Work For Humankind project on the remote Isla Robinson Crusoe, contributing to renewable energy, community farming, and conservation storytelling. Following this, she founded Climate Conscious Travel, advocating for community-centric climate action in tourism.

Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Harvard University, Shivya envisions a role in shaping a more sustainable and regenerative tourism industry.
