The Sweet Success of Shivesh Bhatia: Instagram’s Beloved Baking Boy

We live in an era where content creation is taking over; Instagram has transformed from a simple memory-sharing platform to a powerful podium of creativity, storytelling, and career-building. Among many trends is food content, with millions of talented creators trekking toward success. One among them is Shivesh Bhatia, who tasted success at a considerably young age.

Who is Shivesh Bhatia? Where Does He Come From?

Shivesh Bhatia was born on April 22, 1996, in New Delhi, India. Although it wasn’t something he’d foreseen for himself early on, he developed a love for baking, which later became his full-time career. He is now 28, well-known for his social and friendly personality. Though he is a natural extrovert who enjoys meeting new people, he prefers gatherings with close friends, and when there is Bollywood music, he brings out his party animal. A non-vegetarian at heart, he is very fond of cold coffee and pizza and is a travel lover, with London City at the top of his favourite places. He has a dog named Yoda, his beloved companion, adopted just before the first COVID wave. He often shares adorable pictures and videos of them on his Instagram account.

Education and Career Beginnings

Shivesh completed his schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, where he shaped his interest in writing. In 2014, he joined Hindu College, Delhi University, to study political science, planning to make a career with a degree. As he was still interested in writing, he contributed to prominent Indian newspapers like Hindustan Times and The Hindu. After a few efforts in writing, he redirected his focus to baking. His passion for desserts began in the 11th grade when he and his cousins tried to bake a pre-mix of vanilla cupcakes, which resulted in a few burnt ones but ignited his love for baking.

Shivesh says “I started baking when I was a kid, and it came to me from my Mom and Nani. It eventually evolved from a simple hobby into a passion. Little did I know that this passion would lead me to become the author of not one, but five cookbooks”.

He eventually started posting pictures of his homemade baking creations on Instagram and quickly received positive feedback. Boosted by viewers’ and followers’ encouragement, he started a food blog, Bake With Shivesh, in December 2014. By 2015, he transitioned from a simple blog to a full-fledged website where his followers could access his recipes and bake with ease.

What makes Shivesh’s work unique?

His ability to blend clarity with enlightenment. His desserts are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat, full of a combination of flavours, aesthetics, and a unique charm that won audiences worldwide. He is a self-taught baker, mastered not only recipes but also food styling and photography, making his desserts visually appealing and mouth-watering on Instagram and beyond.

His journey isn’t just about desserts and their recipes; it’s about making baking accessible and easy for everyone who desires to be a baker. He usually avoids complex equipment or hard-to-find ingredients, focusing instead on simple methods and creating recipes that even novices can bake. He hands it over with care so we all can handle it with confidence. His words reflect his approach: “I attempt to make baking doable and accessible. I want to encourage more people to try their hand at baking, not scare them away.”

A combination of creativity, visual appeal, and relatability brought fame and success and made him a person of discussion. Shivesh Bhatia stands out because he doesn’t just share recipes but his journey, quirks, and personal moments. His honesty about the challenges of a non-traditional career path and the balance between creativity and personal life relates to many.

“One must focus on creating original, high-quality content… If you’re sharing something new, different, and fresh, it’ll help you stand out from the crowd,” he says.
