YouTube's Cool Untried Features in its Regular Updates

YouTube is now expanding its generative AI music project. The “Dream Track” experiment will now have a feature that includes an AI remix option for certain songs. And we think it’s an exciting new feature for creators to explore as YouTube slowly rolls out access.

What does this mean for creators?
You can pick a song from a selected list, and type in how you’d like to remix it. Surprisingly, you can change the genre or the vibe and ta-dah! You get a unique 30-second soundtrack to use in your Shorts.

What’s much better?
The song’s original vocals and lyrics remain intact and every time it gives you a fresh one without losing the original magic.

This new feature is part of YouTube’s plan to bring more music tools in collaboration with musicians and music publishers, currently, the option is only available for select tracks. But let us think about the potential here, artists could see their tracks reimagined in countless ways, this boosts their engagement and listeners always have something new to enjoy. A win-win scenario: creators get exciting content and artists still get credited.
At the moment, only a small group of creators can try out this remix experiment, while the Dream Track feature itself became available to all creators last month.

YouTube also added some other updates:

The next update to try out is a live-stream notification pops up within the Shorts feed. This could be important for creators who use both Shorts and live-streams.
Let’s see how it works: if you’ve scheduled a live stream, a reminder option appears to Shorts viewers within 24 hours, prior to streaming. You don’t need to do anything extra or fancy for this to happen, schedule your stream and YouTube takes care of the rest. It’s a smart move to direct Shorts viewers to your live streams. We all know how popular Shorts are, this could be a game-changer for creators looking to boost their live audience.

The final update is to categorise all 3 minutes or shorter videos into Shorts. This is part of YouTube’s ongoing efforts to streamline content and fit more into the snappy, bite-sized video trend.
Whether you’re creating music-based content, live streams or shorter videos, YouTube’s latest updates can be fun to explore. Creators have more tools to engage, interact and bring in more viewers and keep the audience hooked with these new features.
Try the new features out and watch ahead for more from YouTube.
