Between acting, motherhood, and content creation, Ishitta Arun has perfected the art of organised chaos.
Ishitta Arun’s life is a masterful performance, filled with twists, turns, and unexpected roles. She isn’t just an artist who takes the stage, she defines it. Whether acting, writing lyrics, designing spaces, or embracing her roles as a content creator and mother, Ishitta’s flair for the dramatic and her unapologetic style shine through. Balancing a thriving career with motherhood, she embodies the delicate harmony of chaos, creativity, and life’s daily grind. But what lies behind the glitz and glamour of her dynamic life? Let’s peel back the layers and explore Ishitta Arun’s journey from a gifted child artist to a celebrated actress, lyricist, designer, and beyond.
A Prodigy in the Making
Growing up as the daughter of folk music legend Ila Arun, creativity was an inseparable part of Ishitta’s life. Her childhood was a kaleidoscope of art, music, and performance. While most children were busy with crayons, Ishitta was recording songs for documentaries and performing in Shyam Benegal’s Yatra.
Far from being a passive observer in a creative household, Ishitta was actively shaping her own path. By the age of eight, she was singing under the guidance of Ustad Maqbool Hussain. By her teenage years, she had already written a full-length play and trained in Kathak with maestros. Her home, a melting pot of folk tunes, Bollywood dreams, and hip-hop beats, laid the foundation for a career as vibrant and eclectic as her upbringing.
The Many Acts of Ishitta
Ishitta’s career is a fascinating story woven from theatre, music, and the screen. Her stint as a VJ for B4U Music made her a household name, her wit and charm captivating audiences. Seamlessly transitioning to acting, she debuted in the Tamil classic Snegithiye and later made her Bollywood entry with Kahan Ho Tum.
Her theatre credits are equally impressive, featuring standout performances in The Merchants of Bollywood, Mareechika, and Goonj. On-screen, her talent has shone in Netflix hits like Rana Naidu and Scoop, along with the quirky series Good Bad Girl.
Beyond acting and hosting, Ishitta danced into pop culture history with Sonu Nigam’s iconic Bijuria music video, choreographed by Saroj Khan. As a lyricist, she’s penned soul-stirring pieces such as So Ja Re for Dhaakad and Coke Studio’s Ae Rab, collaborating with musical legends like Atif Aslam.
Life Behind the Curtain
Away from the spotlight, Ishitta’s world revolves around her family. Married to Dhruv Ghanekar, a celebrated music composer and guitarist, Ishitta finds joy in their artistic, love-filled home. Her daughters, Amaala and Alaaya, are her greatest inspirations.
For Ishitta, life’s magic lies in the little moments crafting bedtime fairy tales, cheering at school events, or exploring the world with her daughters. These intimate experiences fuel her creativity, grounding her in a life where family and artistry coexist harmoniously.
A Creative Empire
Ishitta has cultivated a multifaceted career, excelling in acting, lyric writing, hosting live events, brand collaborations, and interior design. Her diverse ventures showcase her boundless talent and entrepreneurial spirit, significantly contributing to her revenue and net worth.
On social media, Ishitta remains effortlessly engaging. Her Instagram captures her vibrant life, while her X showcases her sharp wit and thought-provoking reflections. Every post offers a glimpse into her world, where creativity and authenticity are paramount.
A Life Unscripted
Ishitta Arun doesn’t just live life, she performs it with unapologetic creativity and charm. Whether she’s designing Mumbai’s most stylish spaces, penning lyrical masterpieces, or making her daughters laugh with her dance moves, she proves that life’s best stories are the ones we write ourselves. In Ishitta’s world, monotony has no place, societal norms are mere suggestions, and every moment is infused with her unique flair.
