Ranveer Allahbadia's Consequences After 'Parent's Sex' Remark – Brand Deals and Followers at Risk?

Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps is in the eye of a social media storm. A clip of him making a controversial remark on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent has gone viral, triggering backlash, boycott calls, withdrawal of brand deals and loss of followers.

From ‘Disruptor of the Year’ to Facing Public Outrage

In March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the National Creators Awards, recognising digital influencers. Among the awardees was Allahbadia, named “Disruptor of the Year.” However, the selection is a debate today, with critics suggesting favouritism toward influencers promoting government initiatives, the award must be returned. Some Congress leaders even claimed that the awards blurred the line between content creation and personal endorsement.

The Viral Video That Started It All

In the episode, Ranveer Allahbadia asks an unsettling question to a contestant:

“Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?”

The remark drew widespread criticism, with netizens slamming it as inappropriate and distasteful. Hashtags like #boycott_ranveerallahbadia and #unfollow_ranveer_allahbadia started trending as people called for mass unfollowing, so far there have been over 10K followers who unfollowed.

Brands May Cut Ties Amidst Image Crisis

This controversy could impact Beerbicep’s brand partnerships. He has previously collaborated with brands like Spotify, Mountain Dew, Amazon Prime Video, Intel, and Wow Skin Science. However, brands may now reconsider their association.

Given the backlash, brands with strict image policies might rethink their collaborations. Many companies prefer influencers who align with their values and avoid controversies.

What’s Next for BeerBiceps?

As we speak, Mumbai police have reached Ranveer Allahbadia’s residence. People are speculating that other judges who were a part of the controversial episode and are alleged of promoted inappropriate content will be visited by the cops. The netizens have already strongly demanded that all the judges from the show stop making content for their irresponsible acts and foul language.

While Allahbadia’s massive fanbase might help him weather some of the storm, his brand image has taken a hit. Companies today focus on online reputation management and prefer collaborating with creators who maintain a positive image.

With brands distancing themselves and an FIR in play, the coming days could define Allahbadia’s career trajectory. Will he bounce back, or is this the beginning of a major downfall? Only time will tell.
