Kunzum Books organised a two-day event called ‘The Food Writers and Influencers Collective,’ bringing together food writers, editors, influencers, and storytellers. The event celebrated the connection between food and literature while exploring culinary history, food journalism, and visual storytelling.
Kunzum Books is a chain of bookstores in India that serves as a community hub for literature, culture, and art enthusiasts. It offers curated selections and hosts various events.
A Two-Day Celebration of Food and Words
Kunzum Books hosted the event on February 26 at one of its stores in Greater Kailash, New Delhi, connecting the dots between food, literature, and culture. The event began with a meet-and-greet session at 5:00 p.m. with coffee and refreshments. Sourish Bhattacharyya and Ajay Jain, the founder of Kunzum Books, formally inaugurated the event.
Day One Highlights:
The highlight of the first day was a discussion on ‘Elections On My Plate,’ a unique show blending food and politics. A session on the intersection of historical research and culinary writing followed this. The agenda was to explore how both fields complement each other.

Another key session was an editors’ Round Table on the ‘Future of Food Writing’, featuring journalists from leading media organisations. The discussion revolved around evolving trends in food journalism and digital storytelling. A special debate on the role of social media in shaping the ‘food and thought’ discourse.

The first day concluded with two more engaging sessions, one featuring an author in the spotlight and another focusing on the art of visual storytelling.
Day Two Highlights:

The event’s second day continued to celebrate the union of food and literature. It focused on indigenous cuisine and exploring culinary traditions long before modern-day curries and sourdough breads took over.

This was followed by two discussions, each with a prominent author. The evening then moved on to a session featuring food influencers. They discussed blogging, food content creation, the challenges of staying relevant, and much more.
