How did PayalGaming start as a gamer?

Hailing from a small town called Chindwara, Payal was always asked to focus on studies. Gaming was out of the question, especially for a girl. In the interview, she shared how her mother was strict, but her father tried to support her.

However, her journey began when she started playing PUBG in 2018. At the time, Payal was a first-year engineering student at a college in Chhattisgarh. A friend introduced her to PUBG, and she began watching gaming streams on YouTube. She got introduced to some other creators like Lokesh Jain, AKA Goldy, which made her wonder if she could also start her own channel.

PayalGaming’s Beginning as a Streamer

While watching gaming content on Instagram, she realized that these streaming videos quickly blew up. It prompted her to start recording her gaming sessions, and she started uploading them on her own Instagram using popular hashtags that would help them go viral.

In the first week of uploading, she got around 50,000 views on a video. Realizing that this could be something that would work successfully for her, the gamer started uploading consistently to gain more followers and views. She knew that she would have to get actual results to convince her family that this was the right choice for her. After a couple of months of uploading, she gained 80,000+ followers on Instagram. This was when she was encouraged to livestream instead of just uploading recorded videos. Coming from a conservative background, it took some convincing to make her family comfortable with the thought of her livestreaming.

While she initially knew very little about YouTube streaming, joining S8UL provided guidance. Her current manager, 8-bit Creative, also helped grow as a personal brand. Since then, Payal has collaborated with multiple brands, participated in many tournaments, and built her own community.

Encouraging Female Gamers

While sharing her story, Payal Dhare talks about how it is important to convince your family and consider their views when venturing into gaming professionally. Even good gamers might only sometimes be able to make it big if they take it up as a career. The number of female gamers has increased substantially in the last five years, and there is a lot of space for talented individuals to succeed. When asked about hate comments, she said she learned to deal with it and ignore the hate. Dealing with trolls comes with the territory of being a public figure.

PayalGaming’s Future Aspirations

As her interview ended, she light-heartedly shared how being a gamer has brought her more success than she ever dreamed of. She feels ready to grasp all the opportunities that come her way and grow further in the esports world and beyond. This was when she shared that she would also love to have her own Netflix show. As a gamer who has won multiple awards personally and with her S8UL team, it might not be an impossible dream.

As she sets her sights on such ambitious endeavors, PayalGaming remains poised to leave an indelible mark on the global esports landscape.

Yet another Bengali girl in Bengaluru, Anusuya is an experienced content specialist with 12+ years of experience. Currently the content manager at OneNative Studio, she thrives on being hands-on in the creative process; from writing compelling articles & blogs to crafting engaging social media posts & website copy. When not meeting deadlines, she enjoys Pinterest-planning her next trips; to explore new cities and immerse herself in local cultures, especially local food. Choosing a degree in Tourism was a no-brainer, while the writing came naturally with years of her nose being buried in books.
