Content creators are the new stars in the entertainment industry. From starring in films to showcasing their talent on OTT, these creators have leveraged their online fame to enter the glamorous world of Bollywood, demonstrating the increasing crossover between digital content creation and mainstream entertainment.

The rise in popularity of YouTubers, influencers, and content creator trying their luck as actors is a new phenomenon. In the past, we have seen a list of these creators who have taken up acting as a second career and are doing wonders.

Let’s take a look at these popular creators, who having already made their acting debut, have some interesting projects in the pipeline.

Kusha Kapila

Social media sensation Kusha Kapila is doing very well for herself. She made her acting debut with the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories. She was recently seen in Rhea Kapoor’s ‘Thank You For Coming.’ The film also starred Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, and Dolly Singh in key roles. She was also part of Amazon Mini TV’s Dehati Ladke. Talking about her upcoming project, Kusha will be seen in an upcoming film “Sab First Class” by Cine1 Studios. The film also has Shehnaaz Gill and Varun Sharma in the lead roles. The cast has wrapped up the shoot and the film is now in its post-production stage.

Bhuvan Bam

Known for his YouTube channel “BB Ki Vines,” Bhuvan Bam made his acting debut with the short film “Plus Minus” alongside Divya Dutta. He also starred in the web series “Dhindora,” which he produced. Bhuvan who gained accolades for his acting chops in Taaza Khabar will soon be seen in the second season of that series. Bhuvan will also star in an upcoming action thriller flick which will be directed by a newcomer. He will be playing the lead role in a major action thriller.

Prajakta Koli

Prajakta, who is popularly known as “MostlySane” on YouTube, made her acting debut in the Netflix series “Mismatched.” She also appeared in the film “Jug Jugg Jeeyo.” The witty girl has wrapped up the shoot of Mismatched season 3 and the series is expected to release anytime soon. She will also be seen in a new horror drama series titled Andhera alongside Surveen Chawla, Karanvir Malhotra, and Vatsal Sheth on Amazon Prime Video.

 Viraj Ghelani

Creator Viraj Ghelani impressed with his notable cameo in the blockbuster film Jawan featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi. He also played Bhumi Pednekar’s boyfriend in the movie Govinda Naam Mera. And now Viraj will play a lead role in an upcoming Gujarati horror comedy film Jhamkudi. Manasi Parekh Gohil and her husband Parthiv Gohil have turned producers for the movie, which is set to release on May 31. Viraj is currently at the Cannes Film Festival promoting his film, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Avneet Kaur

Social media star Avneet Kaur is known for her acting chops in Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga. The actress was a part of the popular movie Mardaani and made her big Bollywood debut as a lead actress in Tiku Weds Sheru opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Avneet’s upcoming film Luv Ki Arrange Marriage is expected to be released in 2024. She is playing the lead opposite Sunny Singh. In an interview, Avneet mentioned wrapping up the shoot. It is a family comedy genre and she had a great time shooting with an ensemble cast.

Anushka Sen

Moreover Actress and influencer Anushka Sen, is well-known for her stint in shows like Baal Veer, and Jhansi Ki Rani. She recently announced that she will be making her grand debut in South Korean cinema with her upcoming project, ‘Asia.’ In an interview, the actress mentioned she will be seen playing an assassin for the first time.  She has wrapped up the shoot and is looking forward to the film’s release.

Siddharth Nigam

However Actor and influencer Siddharth Nigam has captivated audiences with his exceptional talent and charismatic presence on television and silver screens. Siddharth is still recalled for his roles in the TV show Aladdin and Aamir Khan movie starrer Dhoom 3. He’s all set to make his mark on the OTT space with his upcoming web series G.O.A.T. which will star Jacqueline Fernandez and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead roles. Furthermore Siddharth mentioned that the character is something new for his fans and audience. The actor was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, with Salman Khan.

 The recently concluded e4m Golden Mike Awards 2024 honoured and recognized brilliance in the radio and audio industry in India. Among the diverse categories was the one for “Influencer RJ of the Year.” Big FM’s RJ Naved and Fever’s Rahul Makin walked away with the honours.

RJ Naved urf Naved Khan is from Bugrasi, Uttar Pradesh and moved to Delhi for further studies. He’s an entertainer cum roaster. Naved’s content is based on roasting people over a phone call by acting as someone they already know. He is also a TV host, voice-over artist, and radio jockey. Furthermore, famous for his show ‘Dilli ka Don’ on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. He has won the IRF: Best Sparkler (Comedy) award three times, the NT (National Television Award) for 2G (TV category), the Golden Mikes Award for RJ of the Year, and the Indian Icon Award. Popular model and content creator Sana Sultan Khan is currently in reality show Bigg Boss OTT 3, hosted by Anil Kapoor. Sana has been featured in various music videos and was featured on New York’s Times Square Billboard after winning the title of UC Miss Cricket in 2019.

Before entering the Bigg Boss house, The Reelstars got in touch with Sana and asked her a few questions. Read on!

How has life changed after you tasted success?

By God’s grace, life is the same for me but people’s perspectives towards me have changed. People who thought I wasn’t fit for a project now come to me and say we always knew you had a spark and how my popularity changed people’s thoughts.

What inspired you to participate in Bigg Boss OTT 3?

I wanted a change in life. After doing music videos back-to-back, I wanted to break the monotony and do something different. I wanted people to see my real self and nothing is better than participating in Bigg Boss. Also, I think I am fit for the show – for being real and not fake.  

How are you as a person?

I am calm as well as a short-tempered person. I don’t lose my calm easily unless and until someone tries hard to poke me.

How do you plan to utilize money and fame post Bigg Boss?

I see myself writing and singing songs in the near future. I would like to invest my Bigg Boss money in building a stronger career. As for fame, I am not too desperate to stay in the news.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I am quite empathetic, mature, and helpful, and my weakness is being oversensitive.
