In a growing trend, content creators/influencers are now taking the leap into acting, blending digital fame with traditional media. In the past, we have seen many popular social media stars like Kusha Kapila, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Viraj Ghelani, as well as YouTubers like Bhuvan Bam and CarryMinati amongst others making their acting debut on the big screen and OTT. These influencers have successfully leveraged their online fame to break into acting, demonstrating their versatility and broadening their career horizons.

Following the trend, here is a list of some more creators who are set to make their acting debut in 2024.

Orry

The first on the list is everyone’s favourite, party boy and the paparazzi’s muse Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry. He became a phenomenon after featuring in Bigg Boss 17 and Koffee With Karan. He took the internet by surprise after he revealed that he charges Rs 25 lakhs for his famous hand pose. Besides, Orry has mentioned that he has around a dozen managers who take care of his life and professional commitments. Looks like Orry’s storm doesn’t seem to blow down as he is now gearing up for his acting debut. In a recent interview, he revealed that he will be seen in a low-budget independent film. He didn’t mention more details about the film but it is expected to be released soon.

Anjali Arora

Anjali Arora tasted fame after her dance videos went viral, followed by her participation in the reality show Lock Upp. With a significant social media following of 13.1M followers and being one of the most talked-about influencers. Furthermore, Anjali is making her acting debut with a big-budget film. However, she is roped in to play Goddess Sita in Abhishek Singh’s directorial Shri Ramayan Katha. Besides, marking a big milestone in her career.

Popular digital content creator Niharika NM, who is recognized for her humorous content. Moreover, is all set to make her film debut in Indian cinema with a Tamil film starring Atharvaa in the lead. Lyca Productions is producing the film directed by debutant director Akash Baskaran. Moreover, Niharika NM also recently made her third appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Rapper, stand-up comedian, and reality show Lock Upp season 1 and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui, is marking his acting debut with the web series First Copy. During Eid, Munawar has announced about the series by sharing a teaser. The short teaser takes us back to 1999 when DVDs were a big trend. It is written and directed by Farhan P Zamma. The series is produced by Kurji Productions and co-produced by Salt Media. However, the release date and OTT platform of the show are yet to be announced.
