We all know Garba queen Falguni Pathak, but do you know who’s called the ‘Dandiya queen’ these days? Introducing Nisha Kidecha Naik, popularly known as ‘Dancing Toes’. Nisha came into the limelight during the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone was confined to their homes. Seizing the opportunity to create and reach a wide audience, Nisha began uploading entertaining videos to lift people’s spirits.
One of her most iconic videos from 2022 features her in the kitchen, making roti while holding a rolling pin like a dandiya stick. She breaks into a dance upon hearing the tunes of “Dholida”. This video made her an overnight sensation, amassing millions of views.
Another hit video tutorial on how to twirl a dandiya stick further cemented her status. Viewers loved her content and started requesting more videos and Garba classes.
Since then, Nisha has become synonymous with Dandiya and Garba. She inspires many to learn the steps of these traditional dances. The craze for Garba and Dandiya has grown exponentially, transcending regional boundaries to become a global phenomenon. Nisha Kidecha Naik is a distinguished and certified choreographer and trained under the mentorship of renowned instructors such as Mr. Krishna (Saroj Khan’s assistant) for Bollywood Style, Melvin Louis and Shiamak Davar for Contemporary, and Mrs. Pallavi for Belly Dance. She has served as a dance mentor for the DID LIL Masterz Dance Academy (Vapi Branch) for their certified course. Her dedication and talent have earned her numerous accolades in state and district-level dance competitions. Her true passion for dance is evident in her work, and she has inspired many around her with her commitment and creativity.
