Popular YouTube personality and content creator Ashish Chanchlani spoke about the growing influence of regional content creators in India at the recently held Great India Retail Summit that took place in Mumbai on February 15 and 16.

Ashish predicted that regional creators are going to be the stars of this country in the coming days,  pointing out that they have an ability to connect with audiences on a deeply cultural level. He also mentioned that in today’s era, these creators hold a unique advantage of blending entertainment with culture, something that resonates strongly with viewers across the country, according to a report in The Economic Times.

Ashish shared his thoughts on how there is a significant shift in preferences and the content creation and consumption is towards darker humour among Gen Z.

I had to put a lot of sound effects in my videos

On facing challenges and experiences in reaching tier 2 and 3 audiences, he shared, “For me to reach tier 2 and 3 audiences, I had to put a lot of sound effects in my videos.”

Ashish shared the hard work and strategy that go towards making a campaign with any brand. “Every time I do a brand video, I get on a call with the company to understand their conversion rate based on the campaign.”

Sharing his thoughts on brand collaborations, the popular YouTuber emphasized the need for brands to move beyond mere view counts and focus on meaningful engagement and conversion rates. “Views are not the measure of how your brand will get a conversion,” he asserted, highlighting the importance of understanding the creator’s audience and aligning brand messaging accordingly.
