K-drama LineUp For December 2024:

Time-Bending Musical Magic: Who Is She!

Imagine getting a second chance to chase your wildest dreams – at any age. Who Is She! brings this fantasy to life with a hilarious twist. Kim Hae-sook stars as Oh Mal-sun, a grandmother who magically transforms into a 20-year-old idol trainee. With Jinyoung and Chae Won Bin rounding out the cast, this KBS2 December 18th release is a heartwarming remake of the beloved Miss Granny film. Created by Squid Game mastermind Hwang Dong-hyuk, the drama promises to blend comedy, music, and pure imagination.

Survival Games Return: Squid Game Season 2

Netflix’s global phenomenon is back with a vengeance. Lee Jung-jae returns as Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), diving back into the deadly game with a mission to save other participants. Three years after his initial victory, Gi-hun comes with a new resolve, determined to expose the truth and stop the games once and for all. Joining him are Wi Ha-joon and Lee Byung-hun, promising another heart-stopping season of twists, turns, and moral dilemmas.

Supernatural Mysteries at the Light Shop

Disney+ Hotstar brings a chilling December offering with Light Shop. This horror-mystery brings together an all-star cast including Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, and Seolhyun. Set in a cryptic light shop where the living and dead intersect, the drama follows struggling individuals drawn to a mysterious place that holds the key to their past, present, and future. Ju Ji-hoon plays the shop’s guardian, while Park Bo-young portrays a nurse with a near-death experience, promising a spine-tingling narrative that blurs the lines between reality and the supernatural.

Family Revenge Meets Cinderella: Cinderella Game

Viki presents a thrilling family drama that turns the Cinderella story on its head. Na Young Hee and Han Groo lead a compelling cast in this revenge thriller about an orphaned woman who unexpectedly becomes a wealthy family’s heiress. But all is not as it seems – she quickly discovers she’s been manipulated as a pawn in an elaborate scheme. The drama promises a journey of personal growth, revenge, and ultimate justice.

Historical Charm Meets Modern Storytelling: Check in Hanyang

For those who love historical dramas with a twist, Viki and Netflix offer Check in Hanyang. Set in the Joseon era, this coming-of-age romance follows young interns at Yongcheonru, the grandest inn of its time. Bae In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun lead a cast that brings to life the motto “The customer is king” with humor and heart. Releasing on December 21st, the drama promises to blend historical authenticity with youthful energy.
