A Bittersweet Farewell To The Queen Of Tears Finale
Okay, folks, let’s talk about the Queen of Tears Finale. Buckle up, because this isn’t just your average drama wrap-up. It’s a full-on emotional rollercoaster we just had to navigate. The April 28th finale not only etched its name in history as the network’s highest-rated show ever, garnering a staggering 24.9% viewership rating, but also sparked a passionate debate about the fate of its beloved lead couple.

First things first, the finale. Holy smokes, that 24.9% viewership rating? Totally deserved. They beat Crash Landing Of You! This show had us hooked from the beginning, with Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun, looking dreamy as ever) and Hae In (Kim Ji Won, in her boss-woman era) facing down challenge after challenge. Seriously, those two went through the wringer – evil villains, family secrets, the whole shebang.
The finale was supposed to be their happy ending, right? And for a while, it was! We got a glimpse of their adorable little family, living their best lives. We’re sure viewers were practically squealing with joy since the ending was originally expected to be a sad one. But then, bam! The scene shifts, and there’s Hyun Woo, older and alone, visiting Hae In’s grave. 2074? Come on, PD-nim! We could’ve done without the fast-forward to their end, even if it was after a full life together.
This ending definitely had everyone talking. Some people loved the emotional depth, the idea that their love story transcended even death. Others felt a pang of sadness. Don’t get me wrong, seeing them together in the end, even if it was in the afterlife, was beautiful. But a part of us wished for a more traditional happily-ever-after. After all, we all like a little escape from reality in our K-Drama world.

Despite the mixed feelings about the finale, one thing’s for sure: this show was a phenomenon. And the wrap-up party proved it! Seeing the cast, especially Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, interact with the insane amount of fans at the party was incredible. Kim Soo Hyun’s playful shout-out to Hae In had everyone laughing, and Kim Ji Won looked genuinely touched by the overwhelming support.
So, yeah, “Queen of Tears” might have left us emotionally drained, but it left it’s mark on our drama-addict hearts. What did you guys think of the ending? Did it leave you feeling satisfied, or were you hoping for something different?
