Blackpink Members End Individual Contracts With YG Entertainment

After much speculation about the K-pop girl group breaking up, YG Entertainment announced that Blackpink renewed their contract. The group had first signed with YG in 2016 and have decided to continue after the end of their seven-year contract.
However, all the Blackpink members have announced that they will not continue their contracts for individual activities with the company. YG Entertainment is only partnered for group activities of Blackpink with the new contract.

Lisa (Lalisa Manobal), Jisoo (Kim Ji-soo), Jennie (Kim Jennie) and Rosé (Roseanne Park) have all agreed not to proceed with the additional individual contracts.

Blackpink’s Jisoo signed a contract with her brother’s agency to pursue solo activities. She will be working under the label “Blissoo”, a subsidiary of the company Biomom, Inc. While Biomom is primarily known for food products, they are committed to growing their entertainment division by recruiting Jisoo.

On the show hosted by Lee Hyori, she expressed her wish to debut a full-length solo album in 2024 under her label. The singer also revealed the meaning behind the name of her label explaining that she wants to do well even if her chosen path might be strange for others.

The official page of ODD ATELIER on Instagram posted their first picture on 24th December with the caption: “OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected. It is a label founded by artist JENNIE in November 2023.”
