Elvish Yadav, Kusha Kapila Lock Horns After Elvish Calls Her ‘Sasti Kareena Kapoor’

Two popular social media personalities Elvish Yadav and Kusha Kapila have found themselves deep in controversy after YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav referred to Kusha as ‘sasti Kareena Kapoor.’

This statement of Elvish didn’t go down well with Kusha. In response, she highlighted the importance of consent, stating that Elvish did not have the right to use Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name without her permission. She emphasized Kareena’s status as the rightful owner of her own identity and criticized the appropriation of her name.

Kusha Kapila was speaking to The Lallantop recently when she reacted to Elvish Yadav’s comment and said, “What does this mean? Kareena Kapoor has not consented for this, first ask her, she is the begum. How can you use her name anywhere? It’s wrong.” “Aap ne meme nahi dekha, ‘Ye Elvish bhai ke aage koi nahi bol sakta’. Unhone dosti ka haath badhaya hai meri taraf,” the actress added.

She further revealed that a few of her male co-stars recently met Elvish Yadav when he told them, “Kusha ne abhi tak block kiya hai mujhe Instagram pe (Kusha has still blocked me on Instagram).”

The YouTube vs TikTok debate, which started with playful roasts during the pandemic, turned into a bitter online feud between creators and their fans. Elvish and Lakshay Chaudhary criticized few female influencers, including Kusha Kapila. However, Kusha responded thoughtfully, discussing the misogynistic tone of their comments and acknowledging her own past mistake of generalizing all men in an unroast video.

In that particular interview, Kusha also spoke how she became a villain when she broke news about her separation with husband Zorawar Ahluwalia on social media, she said, “I was in Mumbai alone and my parents had no idea that I was about to put that story. Then suddenly, I saw another publication had posted a story about the same. I was scared that a new news cycle would be built on this. I remember calling Zorawar and he told me not to feel pressured to do this. he said ‘We will do this when you want to.’ I was so scared that day that I could not even write what we had shared on social media. The statement had my dog Maya’s name and people thought that I was a mother. I reached out to everyone I could for help as to what should I do as the news cycle got really big and I became a big villain. After that statement, I could actually find peace and calm in my life.”
