Grammys 2024: Shankar Mahadevan And Zakir Hussain Make India Proud
Drumrolls…. India won big at Grammys 2024!
Zakir Hussain emerged as India’s top achiever, securing three Grammys, while Rakesh Chaurasia garnered two accolades. The fusion group Shakti, consisting of singer Shankar Mahadevan, violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan, and percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram, collaborators with Hussain, collectively earned one Grammy each at the star-studded event held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (4 February). They won the award for their latest album, ‘The Moment.’
Meanwhile, Zakir Hussain also secured the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ Grammy for his contribution to ‘Pashto’ alongside Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia – a virtuoso flute player. While Hussain bagged three Grammys in one night, Chaurasia got two awards.
