Ramadan-The Reelstars

Ramadan is considered the holiest month for Muslims, and the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It goes on for 29 to 30 days, depending upon the sighting of the crescent moon. They fast from dawn to dusk, practicing self-control and abstaining from negative behaviors to feel closer to Allah. They will greet each other with “Ramadan Mubarak ” and “Ramadan Kareem ” and come together for Iftar.

During this month, reading the holy Quran is a key practice and helping the less fortunate is a priority. This is a month of worshipping, self-discipline, doing charity and being punctual. They stay away from many bad things such as drinking alcohol, gambling, maintain celibacy during this sacred time, and try to help people.

There are several actors, cricketers and singers who observe fasting on this holy month of Ramadan. Let’s take a look at popular Muslim social media influencers who are celebrating it in their own ways.

FAQs

Why is Ramadan celebrated?

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, is one of the most sacred times for Muslims. It is the month in which it is believed that the Holy Qur’an was sent down from heaven “as a guidance for men and women, a declaration of direction, and a means of salvation.”

What is Ramadan done for?

During the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from dawn to sunset. It is meant to be a time of spiritual discipline — of deep contemplation of one’s relationship with God, extra prayer, increased charity and generosity, and intense study of the Quran.

Is Ramadan fasting bad or good?

Observing Ramadan means curbed appetite and fasting, which gives your lifestyle and digestive system a positive U-turn. As your body gets used to eating less, your digestive system gets a chance to rest and your stomach gradually shrinks in size. This reduces your appetite, and the results can last longer than many trend diets.
