Influencer Sam Pepper Gets Hospitalised After Having Bhang in India

A trip to India recently became the setting for a shocking incident involving British internet personality and influencer Sam Pepper. Pepper, who was on an India tour, was forced to postpone his trip after being hospitalized with severe digestive issues, allegedly caused by drinking bhang.

From Bhang to a Hospital Bed!

In a video posted on the Instagram account ‘Sam Pepper Clips,’ the influencer is seen sampling bhang from a local street vendor. While the exact location remains undisclosed, the footage captures an elderly Indian man preparing the traditional drink, with Pepper eagerly anticipating his first taste.

However, the seemingly casual cultural experience took a dangerous turn. Shortly after consuming the bhang, Sam’s health rapidly deteriorated. What began as an exciting adventure quickly spiraled into a serious medical emergency, landing the influencer in the hospital with severe digestive distress, allegedly linked to the drink.

In another video gaining widespread attention online, Pepper is seen lying in a hospital bed, visibly distressed and emotional. He shared his harrowing experience, accusing the hospital staff of negligence. According to Pepper, Indian nurses left his IV drip valve undone, further exacerbating his anxiety. Feeling unsafe and dissatisfied with the medical care, he made the decision to leave India and fly to Bangkok for additional tests and treatment.

Sympathy and Criticism on Social Media

The incident has ignited a flurry of reactions across social media. Some users expressed concern and sympathy, with one comment reading, “India’s food and drinks aren’t for everyone—hope he recovers soon!” Another remarked, “Bhang is not for the faint-hearted, especially for first-timers. Poor guy.”

On the flip side, many were critical of his decision to consume bhang from a roadside vendor, with one user commenting, “Why do people eat and drink from the street when they know they can’t handle it?” Another echoed the sentiment, saying, “Who told you to drink from there, mate? There are better places to enjoy food.”

The video documenting Sam’s ordeal has amassed over 71,000 views, sparking a lively debate about the risks of trying local delicacies, especially for unprepared travelers.
