Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that he will hand over his social media accounts to a few inspiring women on International Women’s Day, March 8. These women achievers have achieved remarkable triumphs in various fields and will share their experiences and journeys through PM Modi’s social media platforms, X and Instagram. The announcement was made during one of his monthly Mann Ki Baat addresses to the nation.

Celebrating Nari Shakti this International Women’s Day

“This Women’s Day, I will embark upon an initiative for a day, dedicated to our Nari Shakti,” Modi said in his latest Mann Ki Baat episode. “On this special occasion, I will hand over my social media accounts to some inspiring women achievers of the country. Women who have tasted success in myriad fields; who have innovated and created a unique identity for themselves.”

This initiative aims to give these women a platform to share their challenges, achievements and experiences. “The account might be mine, but it will be about their experiences, challenges, and achievements,” the Prime Minister added.

Who Gets to Take Over?

You might wonder how these women are chosen. Is there any scrutiny or selection process? Yes, there is. PM Modi has invited women who wish to participate in this initiative to a special forum on NamoApp. Interested women can share their stories and messages through this platform, and the selected ones will take over PM Modi’s social media accounts on March 8.

A New Perspective on Social Media

By handing over social media accounts to women achievers, PM Modi is not just giving them a platform but also showcasing the potential of social media as a powerful tool for inspiration and empowerment. This innovative initiative is a belief in the power of women and their influence on society.

Recognising Women’sWomen’s Contribution

During his address, PM Modi recalled the role of women in India’s history, particularly highlighting Hansa Mehta’s. She presented the national flag to the Constituent Assembly. Modi shared, “She had brought to the fore the contribution of women from all over the country, right from making our national flag to sacrificing their lives for its sake.” He emphasised that the saffron in the tricolour symbolises women’s power and contribution to the nation.
