Janhvi Kapoor Admits Copying Zendaya’s Style; Hails Uorfi’s Fashion
Bollywood stars Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are currently on a promotion spree. Furthermore, as their highly anticipated film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ nears for theatrical release. Recently, the actress conducted a short Q&A session on her social media handle. She took out time to respond to some hand-picked questions from her fans. Among others, a fan asked if she has been ‘copying’ Zendaya for her movie promotions. Read on to know what the actress shared.
“Is it true that you’re copying Zendaya?”
On 12 May, in a Q&A session, Janhvi admitted copying Zendaya and liking Uorfi aka Urfi Javed’s dressing sense. One of the fans asked the actress, “Is it true that you’re copying Zendaya?” Janhvi replied, “Yes, I’m very heavily inspired by what she did for her Challengers & Dune promotions.” Janhvi further went on to explain, “And, not just her, even I think Uorfi, how creative she is with her fashion.”
Further, Janhvi went on to add, “I feel like as actors we’re all encouraged to kind of do method dressing. Or dress similar to your character when you’re promoting a film, I have never really done it except for Dhadak. But when I saw her doing it and doing it so well and also dressing in accordance with the theme of the film. However, I realized that as actors there is a good amount of attention put on how we can look and how we dress. Moreover, if I can use that to bring attention back to my film then why not.”
Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film will be released on May 31, 2024.
Janhvi Kapoor has recently been promoting her upcoming film Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. Since the movie is about cricket, the actress was seen donning a dress that had leather balls attached to it. Janhvi went viral on social media for donning this look.
Talking about her future projects, she has Ulajh and her Telugu debut with Jr NTR’s upcoming action-thriller Devara: Part 1 in the pipeline.
