Actor and popular content creator Kusha Kapila recently opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced post her separation from ex-husband Zorawar Ahluwalia.

In an interview with Lallantop, Kusha recalled the time when she had announced her split from Zorawar and how she was forced to put out the statement without even informing her parents. She wanted to keep the separation news private, but due to media pressure she and ex-husband decided to address it publicly.

Kusha shared, “This was an emotional as well as a private moment for our family. I had no plans of announcing (my separation) the day I announced it. You can consider that we were asked to put that statement on social media because we wanted the information to go through us rather than any other person.”

She added, “A publication called us to tell us that they knew about Zorawar and my separation. A picture of the second motion circular that had Zorawar and my name was clicked by a few lawyers and it went viral. I knew about it but thought we would keep calm and it’s okay we don’t have to worry about it. We will deal with it when we have to deal with it. And this was our private moment and I would say this is our sacred moment.”

The news cycle got really big and I became a big villain!

Kusha said, “I was in Mumbai alone and my parents had no idea that I was about to tell that story. Then suddenly, I saw another publication had posted a story about the same. I was scared that a new news cycle would be built on this. I remember calling Zorawar and he told me not to feel pressured to do this. He said ‘We will do this when you want to.’ I was so scared that day that I could not even write what we had shared on social media. The statement had my dog Maya’s name and people thought that I was a mother. I reached out to everyone I could for help as to what I should do as the news cycle got really big and I became a big villain. After that statement, I could actually find peace and calm in my life.”

Kusha may have faced tough times in her personal life but professionally she is doing very well for herself currently. She was recently seen in Rhea Kapoor’s ‘Thank You For Coming.’ The film also starred Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill and Dolly Singh in key roles. She was also part of Amazon Mini TV’s Dehati Ladke.

In 2022, she featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan and in the same year, she was listed in the Forbes India’s W-Power list.
