Meet Jatin Thanvi: India's Mr Bean Doppleganger

Social media star Jatin Thanvi, popularly referred to as “India’s Mr. Bean,” has carved a niche for himself in the world of digital entertainment with his unique comedic style inspired by the iconic British character Mr. Bean, portrayed by Rowan Atkinson.

24-year-old Jatin began his social media journey by creating short, humorous videos that quickly gained traction due to their relatability and comedic appeal. Despite being a shy kid, Jatin always wanted to showcase his creative side to the world. An architect by profession, he found solace in making comic videos.

In 2020, during the lockdown, he shot a video imitating Mr. Bean. To his surprise, the video received 600K views overnight. Encouraged by the response, he made another video, which garnered a whopping 56 million views. Flooded with messages from fans, Jatin realized he could make a career in content creation.

Jatin’s Journey from Shy to Confident

From his school days, Jatin’s friends often compared him to Mr. Bean, noting many similarities between them. In grade three, he dressed as Mr. Bean for a fancy dress competition and was applauded by his teachers for his comic timing. This experience transformed him from a shy to a confident kid.

Leaving Engineering to Pursue His Dreams

Jatin left his engineering program to focus entirely on making videos. Initially, his parents were not supportive of this decision, as he struggled to balance his studies and passion. However, he bravely chose to quit engineering, and eventually, his parents recognized his potential to make a living from his art and began to support him.

Jatin’s social media family is growing massively

Jatin’s social media presence shows that he will have a long run in the digital world. He has gained a substantial following on various social media platforms due to his humorous and relatable videos. His content primarily focuses on silent comedy, relying heavily on physical humour and expressive facial gestures, much like the original Mr. Bean character. With almost 1 million followers on Instagram and 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube, Jatin is successfully providing his fans and followers with a daily dose of laughter.

Jatin Thanvi proves the power of talent and the impact of social media in shaping modern entertainment. His ability to adapt and innovate keeps him relevant and beloved by his audience.
