Social media sensation Monalisa, who shot to fame after selling Rudraksha beads at the Maha Kumbh, has set the record straight. Rumours have circled that she received crores for signing her debut film, The Diary of Manipur. But she says that’s far from the truth.

What does Monalisa State?

“This is wrong,” Monalisa declared in a 1.16-minute video clip shared with the traditional media. “I haven’t received any money yet. The film hasn’t started. We haven’t even begun shooting, so how will I get paid?”

Monalisa shared that the film’s director, Sanoj Mishra, visited her home and officially signed her for the project. Now, her training is about to begin. “I will be taught acting first. Only after that, when I work in the film, will I get paid,” she clarified.

Monalisa, whose brown eyes and bare beginnings won hearts, remains grateful. “I went to sell Rudraksha beads at Maha Kumbh. Mahadev blessed me. You all supported me. That’s why I became famous overnight. Thanks to all of you, I have landed a film. Becoming a heroine was my dream, and now it is coming true.”

However, she is upset about the false claims being spread online. “People are saying I got lakhs for the film, this is completely false,” she stated.

Director Sanoj Mishra Confirms the Deal

Director Sanoj Mishra confirmed Monalisa’s signing. But he emphasised that the journey has just begun. “Her training started on February 1 under choreographer Nirmal. She is learning the basics of dance. Mahendra Lodhi is training her in dialogue delivery, while action director Yamin Khan is staying at her house to teach her action sequences.”

Mishra also revealed that Monalisa comes from the Banjara community and has never had formal schooling. “She is now being taught basic spoken Hindi. But the best part is her determination. She has the passion to succeed and will learn everything very soon,” he added.

What’s Ahead?

Monalisa’s transformation from a Rudraksha seller to an aspiring actress is a story of persistence and faith. While social media spins its narratives, she stays focused on her dream. “Now, I will learn acting. Now, I will work in films. Bless me,” she said with hope in her voice.
