MrBeast defeats T Series in race to be most subscribed YouTube channel - The Reelstars

MrBeast, the YouTube channel run by 26-year-old Jimmy Donaldson. MrBeast overtakes T-Series to become the most-subscribed YouTube channel in the world. This marks a significant moment in the digital content landscape, with MrBeast fulfilling a promise made earlier in 2023 to support fellow influencer PewDiePie by achieving this milestone.

The Numbers Game Between MrBeast and T-Series

MrBeast shared a screenshot of his subscriber count, showing 267 million subscribers, surpassing T-Series’ 266 million. Despite this, T-Series, a major Indian music and film production company owned by Bhushan Kumar, maintains a significant lead in total video views, with 256.7 billion compared to MrBeast’s 50.2 billion.

Shooting to the Top

T-Series had held the top spot on YouTube for many years and was the first channel to reach 200 million subscribers in 2021. MrBeast overtakes, however, has seen a meteoric rise in popularity, reaching the same milestone by October 2023. By April 2024, MrBeast had surpassed 250 million subscribers, solidifying his channel as one of the fastest-growing on the platform.

Sweet Triumph for MrBeast

“After 6 years, we have finally avenged PewDiePie,” MrBeast wrote on X (formerly Twitter), celebrating his achievement. The screenshot he posted showed his subscriber count to be 1,608 more than T-Series. This milestone was acknowledged by many, including Elon Musk, who congratulated MrBeast with a “Wow, congrats!” message on X. MrBeast’s post quickly went viral, garnering nearly 10 million views and sparking a flurry of memes from social media users.

On May 16, MrBeast upped the ante by challenging Bhushan Kumar to a boxing match. However, sharing a picture highlighting their subscriber counts. Earlier, in April, T-Series had responded to MrBeast’s rapid growth by urging its fans to maintain its lead and uphold the Indian flag at the YouTube summit. At the time, MrBeast was lagging 11 million behind T-Series. Despite their efforts, MrBeast celebrated his highest ever subscriber gain on June 1. The next day, he went all out celebrating his new milestone.

MrBeast’s ViewStats Gets A Leg Up

Simultaneously, Jimmy Donaldson is promoting his new venture, ViewStats. “I created a website, ViewStats, where you can see views, subs, and any advanced data you’d want for any YouTube channel or video!” Donaldson announced on X. He emphasized his belief that knowledge is power and expressed his desire to help creators of all sizes improve their YouTube performance.

Will the Indian music behemoth take matters lying down? Or will it continue to reign supreme on the total video count?
