Police Officers Going Viral: When Influence Meets Responsibility and Beyond!

We all tried to avoid the traffic police once or twice. Like everyone else, we don’t want to go to a police station or meet a cop easily. However, some police officers are not just doing their duty in real life but are also becoming popular on social media, connecting with people at different levels. These cop influencers are gaining fame and attracting fans from all walks of life.
Let’s take a look at a few of them!

Constable Venkat

Venkat is a constable in the Telangana Police, and he started his YouTube channel with his wife, Usha, during the COVID-19 lockdown. At first, he didn’t wear a uniform and used the platform mainly for family vlogs. However, when he began posting on Instagram, his way of making content changed; Venkat spent his 30K salary buying groceries, helping people with disabilities, and even organising safety awareness programs at schools and local areas to teach kids and young people. He also shares fun and cute videos of his family cooking, often with a sarcastic twist. While he doesn’t post serious content regularly, he majorly uses his platform to explain important things about police work, safety, and useful information for everyone.
He has over 79K subscribers on YouTube and close to 9K followers on Instagram.

Sub-Inspector Rajesh Singh

Rajesh Singh is a Sub-Inspector in the UP Police. He shares his job experiences, lifestyle, and travel vlogs. He also talks about fitness and motivation. Rajesh was born into a normal family, but he worked hard, completed his graduation, and passed the SI selection exam on his first try.

He shares content on fitness, education, and general information, and his 532K followers show how popular his videos are on Instagram. Some of his most viewed videos include tips on emergency numbers like 112 and 1930, cybercrime awareness, women’s safety, and helplines. Recently, he also discussed the topic of digital arrests by the police, answering whether they were genuine or fake.

Many people follow him for job vacancy updates as he regularly shares useful information on this topic.

CPU Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar works in the City Patrolling Unit, helping keep Uttarakhand’s cities, towns, and hills safe. He was moved from regular police duty to this special unit, and that’s when he started his YouTube and Instagram channels. Since then, he has been influencing people with his content.

In his videos, Deepak talks about how to follow traffic rules, how the police control traffic, how fines are given, and other important safety tips for people on the road. He also shares many lesser-known facts about the Road Transport Authority (RTA) and the safety measures we should follow. His Instagram has 35K followers and YouTube has over 9K subscribers.

Police Jawan Amol Kamble

Havildar Amol Kamble is a Mumbai Police jawan, but he’s a social media dancing star when he’s off duty. He is well-known on Instagram for his dancing reels, with 469K followers. Unlike many other police influencers, Amol chose an entertaining path, which helped him gain popularity.

Amol has always loved dancing, but due to his family’s poor financial situation, he joined the police force. However, he followed his passion for dancing when social media became popular. Amol’s elder brother is a choreographer and professional dancer. Amol has even appeared on a TV show with Farah Khan and comedian Bharti Singh. He also posted a video with actor Ranveer Singh.

Assistant Superintendent Deepak Sharma

Mr Deepak Sharma is an Assistant Superintendent (Jailor) at Tihar Jail in Delhi, India. He is well-known on social media for his podcasts, interviews, and fitness content as a bodybuilder.
He has 435K Instagram followers, and his YouTube channel Puchtaach, a podcast show based on the interrogation theme, has 219K subscribers.

Once, at a private birthday party, he started waving his pistol for a video, which quickly went viral on social media. However, this caused a lot of criticism from Indian netizens when he was seen dancing to the song “Nayak Nahi, Khalnayak Hoon Mai” while showing the weapon openly.

The incident was criticised for being irresponsible. What if he had been drunk and accidentally fired bullets at someone? This raised the question: If police officers are supposed to be role models and behave like this to gain fame on social media, what can we expect from them in real life? Is it okay for a cop to act like this and be a social media celebrity?
Maybe yes, maybe no! If this is what heroism looks like to some people, you can enjoy his videos or check out others on the list.
