Elvish Yadav’s Bail Rejected; Police Drops NDPS Charges

Elvish Yadav’s snake venom case is taking new turns each day. The Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner was arrested on March 17 by the Noida Police, after which he was sent to 14 days of judicial remand under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.

Elvish’s bail rejected!

On Wednesday, Elvish Yadav found no relief during his bail hearing. As per reports, the proceedings at a Noida court were disrupted as a BJP spokesperson and Elvish’s lawyer Gaurav Bhatia were caught in a brawl with other lawyers present. The hearing was also postponed due to an ongoing strike by the local Bar Association. Bhatia tried to make the court members understand the sensitivity and urgency of the hearing in the case. However, he was not allowed to proceed further. The bail hearing has thus been postponed.   

Police removes NDPS act

Now, as per latest update, reportedly Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, was imposed on Elvish Yadav, which has now been removed. The Police said, “We had imposed NDPS Act by mistake, it was a clerical mistake.” Getting a bail in NDPS Act is very difficult.

More arrests in this case

After the arrest of Elvish Yadav, Uttar Pradesh police apprehended two more suspects on Wednesday in connection with a case involving snake venom smuggling. The arrested individuals, identified as Ishwar and Vinay, are both residents of Haryana. The police suspect the involvement of more people in the illicit trade.

Elvish is moved to high security barrack

Reportedly, Elvish Yadav was kept in a quarantine cell inside the prison however he has been moved to a high-security barrack. These barracks are reportedly locked all the time and inmates are not allowed to mingle. Two police personnel and one warden are always deployed outside the barrack.

In November last year, YouTuber Elvish Yadav was booked by the Noida Police for allegedly using snake venom at a rave party. The police had found 20 ml of snake venom, additionally they recovered five cobras, a python, two two-headed snakes, and a rat snake. Yadav was questioned for around two hours by the Noida police for several hours. Based on a complaint filed by the People For Animals (PFA) organisation, the Noida police raided a banquet hall located in Sector 51 and arrested five people, Rahul, Titunath, Jaikaran, Narayan and Ravinath.
