Reem Shaikh On Making OTT Debut With A Grey Shaded Role

Reem Shaikh started her career at young age and has done notable work in shows like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Tujhse Hai Raabta, Gul Makai, Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan and Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal.

Reem has proved her versatility by playing varied roles in previous projects. And once again Reem has impressed her fans with her character portrayal as Ankita in Sony LIV’s Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani. This series marks Reem’s debut on OTT space.

Playing Ankita is an absolute thrill for me

Reem has stepped into the intricate character of Ankita Pandey. Ankita is a character who is complex, yet easy to connect with. Talking about transforming into her character, Reem told in one of the interviews, “Playing Ankita is an absolute thrill for me. It’s not just my debut in the OTT world, but also my first dive into portraying a character with shades of grey.”

“Despite striking differences between Ankita and me, it’s incredible how just 20 minutes of makeup and costume transport me into her world, filled with revenge and angst,” she shared.

She added, “This role has not only simplified my vanity but also allows me to delve deeper into Ankita’s psyche, unraveling the intricate webs of her relationships.”

Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani is written by Anuraadha Tewari. Bhavna Sresth is the creative director while Aniruddha Rajderkar is the series director. Produced by Smruti Shinde and Harvindar Arora.

The show stars Jennifer Winget, Karan Wahi and Sanjay Nath. It weaves the lives of these legal professionals, probing the intricacies of moral dilemmas and the challenge of choosing the right path over the easy one. The series revolves around Anushka, who is a sharp but ethical lawyer who works with Virat, her ambitious colleague, in her father’s law firm. Their lives change as Ankita joins as an intern, concealing a hidden agenda under the guise of a job opportunity.
