Snehil Dixit Mehra: From Reporter To Social Media Sensation
Snehil Dixit Mehra has become synonymous with talent. From working as a reporter to becoming a writer, actor, director, and comedienne, Snehil has come a long way. Snehil has always been inclined towards acting and wanted to carve her name in the Indian entertainment industry.
Snehil’s journey from reporter to an actor
Snehil is an engineer by training, but was always inclined towards acting. Born and brought up in Bhopal, she visited her brother’s house in Mumbai and that’s when she decided to try her luck in reporting. She began her career working as an intern at news channel CNBC Awaaz. She worked as an intern taking home a paycheck that gave her a meagre Rs. 200 daily. Later, she joined an entertainment website ‘Business of Cinema.’ She also worked in a production house and soon was promoted to the position of Creative Director and was given the responsibility of writing scripts. Thus began her writing career. In 2018, she made her acting debut with ALTBalaji’s ‘Apaharan’. Although she had a 20-second appearance in the show, she became an overnight sensation.
Snehil became viral as Bheri Cute Aunty
Moreover Snehil then created her own Instagram page and started posting one-minute funny videos with the account name ‘Bheri Cute Aunty‘, and her moniker BC Aunty went viral. Her videos on Instagram include the Class of Heroes and the Class of 2020 series that stole viewers’ hearts. During the pandemic, Snehil’s videos became a source of entertainment for people and that’s when she started making more comedy content.
In 2022, she returned to ALT Balaji as head of content and digital media, bringing with her 16 years of experience as a writer, director and digital influencer. By then, she had already worked with Bhansali Productions, Star India, Sony and Endemol India.
Snehil’s directorial debut
Snehil had a breakthrough moment in her career when she made her directorial debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ which is a period drama set in Heera Mandi during India’s independence movement, featuring a stellar cast. Snehil considers this opportunity a blessing and has gone on record to say she is fortunate to work with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Entertaining with Madness Machayenge
Furthermore Snehil is currently entertaining her fans with Sony TV’s Madness Machayenge – India Ko Hasayenge with gags, roasts, spoofs, and stand-up acts. She is also part of newly launched series ‘Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond’, streaming on Jio Cinema.
Snehil Dixit Mehra to star in Anil Sharma’s Journey
She will soon be seen in Anil Sharma’s upcoming film Journey. The film stars Nana Patekar, Utkarsh Sharma, and Simrat Kaur in the lead roles. The film is a family drama that explores the relationship between a father and son, who embark on a pilgrimage to Varanasi.
Snehil’s personal journey
In 2019, Besides she married Rahul Mehra and has a son named Hridhaan. Snehil has a supportive family, a husband, and a child who push her to build her career in the world of social media.
Snehil is here to stay!
However In one of her previous interviews, she mentioned that she draws inspiration from personalities like Mallika Dua, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila amongst others. She has said that she wants to help bring equality in the world of acting and comedy, fight to bully, and promote individuality.
