Vagmita Singh's Journey from Screenwriter to Content Creator

Vagmita Singh is an influencer with a massive fan base on Instagram as @thatindianchick_ with 551K followers. Her content is captivating and has turned heads. Her sarcastic and dramatic videos are attention-grabbing. She makes reels on her unapologetic persona on mental health, relationships, and more. From a Marwadi family, Vagmita also promotes her mother tongue through her platform. Her unique way of presenting content has made her immensely popular on social media.

Switching to Content Creation

Vagmita Singh always wanted to make her career in the social media field. After her bachelors in English literature she worked in a media house in Mumbai. However, she soon realized that the job wasn’t honing her creativity. Then she got into a film school and learnt about direction, camera handling and much more. She started working in a production house but then lockdown shut everything. During this time, she suffered a major pay cut.

During the period of lockdown she decided to channelize her inner creativity and jump into social media. Initially she started making videos and got a great response from her followers but she was a bit insecure so she continued to do her job side by side. The moment she signed her first brand deal, she resigned from her job. According to the creator, switching her career to becoming an influencer was the best decision she ever made.

Vagmita Singh is a well-known social media personality and digital creator. She was born and raised in Jaipur and came to Mumbai to pursue her education. Now, she is a famous influencer. Vagmita is very comfortable in front of the camera, which led to her naturally transitioning into content creation.

Family and Educational Background

Vagmita’s family lives in a village in Marwad, near the pink city of Jaipur. Hailing from a lawyer’s family, her father is a practicing advocate in the Rajasthan High Court. Her two older siblings are lawyers, too, but she chose a different path.

Vagmita completed her studies at the all-girls school Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls School in Jaipur, which was an initiative by the Rajmata of Jaipur. After that, she pursued her graduation in English literature from Mumbai since she loved writing. Her expertise is in dialogue writing, screenwriting, and many other aspects of creative writing.

Vagmita announced her debut show on Netflix, “Social Currency,” which was leased exclusively on Netflix on 22nd June last year. Last year, she also contributed to dialogue writing for Amazon Prime Jee Karda.

Muskaan Valecha is a newbie journalist who loves to write poetry and explore different genres of content including entertainment, lifestyle, food and more. She is also studying for a law degree.
