On June 12, CarryMinati will turn 25. As he hits this milestone, this young YouTuber whose real name is Ajey Nagar, will already have several landmark achievements under his belt. He boasts the highest number of YouTube subscribers in India with over 42.1 million followers at last count. And now he has bagged the honour of being the only Indian influencer to be invited by Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast who boasts the highest number of subscribers on YouTube globally, to collaborate on what he calls the ‘biggest video collab’ ever.

Reports pegged CarryMinati’s net worth is estimated to be around $12 million in 2023. This includes his earnings from YouTube, brand endorsements, merchandise sales, and other sources. CarryMinati’s YouTube channel alone is estimated to generate around $2.5 million in annual revenue. Apart from his main YouTube channel, he also has two other channels – CarryIsLive, which has over 12 million subscribers and CarryMinati Productions, which has 962k subscribers.

His pedigree is as impressive as the determination with which he has carved a name for himself in the fiercely competitve creator universe. His mother is a doctor, father a lawyer and his grandfather was a minister in the Haryana government. Ajey started young on YouTube when he was still in his teens, and has come a long way. “My expectations were nothing. I only wanted 50K subscribers, a room to play my games in and make enough money to be able to buy new games and create content, he told Hindustan Times some months ago.

From Humble Beginnings to Multi-Million Dollar Empire

Since then, he has been the face of #GTVerse, a gaming ecosystem floated by tech company Infinix. Besides, he was roped in as the brand ambassador of social gaming company WinZO. However, collaborated with the Madhya Pradesh government to form India’s first-ever esports academy in Bhopal. In March this year, he collaborated with Star Sports as the face of Cheeky Singles, a special weekly show on the backdrop of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has also appeared in the Hindi movie Runway 34 in 2023.

Ajey has had his share of controversies too. During the recent IPL, he found himself in the eye of the storm. Moreover, after his recent roast targeting Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) stalwart, Virat Kohli, went viral. The creator, renowned for his merciless roasts, launched a tirade against Virat Kohli. Moreover, poking fun at his lack of IPL trophies, in a special segment aired on Star Sports. This jibe irritated Kohli’s fans, leading to a social media uproar with the hashtag ‘Shame on Carry Minati’ trending on X.

In May, again, CarryMinati apologised and deleted a part of a YouTube video in which he roasted fitness influencer Rajat Dalal. However, after Dalal gave a veiled threat to the YouTuber. In the video, CarryMinati made fun of influencer Rajat Dalal’s statements about Sigma males and levelled allegations against him. “Rajat’s body may have grown up, but his mind is like that of a child,” CarryMinati said in the video.

CarryMinati’s Controversies: From IPL Roasts to Youtuber Feud

Controversies obviously make creators great, however. Impressed with his fan following, MrBeast recently invited him for what he terms his ‘biggest video ever’. However, posted a picture on X / Twitter alongside some of the biggest names on the internet. CarryMinati is one of them.

While details on the video, which is set to release on July 13, are awaited. Besides, Ajey himself has posted on Instagram about his meeting with Donaldson. “This was so much fun, let’s do it every year @mrbeast”, he posted with a picture of the two of them together. Ajey will feature alongside JJ “KSI”, Kai Cenat, Kylie “TheSketchReal”, Logan Paul, Bella Poarch and Darren “IShowSpeed”. While details are sketchy, it is likely the creators will engage in a challenge against each other for a substantial prize.

MrBeast recently surpassed Indian music label T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTube channel on the planet. When CarryMinati posted, “This was so much fun, thank you, Jimmy, for pulling this off. Moreover, only you can do it lol & thank you guys for all the support I won’t be there without you.” Donaldson took a shot at T-Series, replying with “Thank you for coming out. Btw if you pass the T-Series HQ on your way home tell them I said hi.”

CarryMinati may not exactly drop in at the T-Series HQ to convey the message. However, we are quite sure he will continue to rule the YouTube charts in India for a long time to come.
