Influencer Manisha Malik uncovers Bollywood style secrets. She was born and raised in a small village in Rajasthan and grew up in Delhi and Haryana. She is a content creator specialised in fashion inspired by Indian heritage. As a kid, she was inspired by women weaving durries, i.e., traditional carpets, and stitching and embroidering clothes during the long summer afternoons. She became fascinated with Indian inspired fashion from there.

Manisha started traveling around India, exploring villages and remote areas, visiting artisan villages and local fairs, and collecting clothes, jewellery, and handicrafts. Exploring cultures and their fashion, folk music, food, and way of life inspires Manisha.

Over time, Manisha has delved deeper into the world of Indian crafts, amassing a stunning collection of embroideries, weaves, and jewellery. Her collection includes the intricate Punjabi Phulkari, the delicate Lucknowi Chikankari, the luxurious Kashmiri Pashmina, and the vibrant Rajasthani Meenakari.

Content Creation Journey

During the lockdown, Manisha started making fashion and styling-related content, so she thought of studying fashion. She studied fashion styling at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). She had no experience in the fashion industry as her education was in management, both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Uncovering Bollywood style secrets, Manisha Malik examines the fashion, clothing, and styling worn by celebrities in depth and analyzes the style, meaning, and logic behind it.

Bollywood style looks Manisha talks about in her content:

Janhvi Kapoor’s outfit is inspired by temple jewellery, ideally made for idols of Gods and Goddesses. South Indian loves gold and each of these motifs has a meaning. It gives a South Indian touch to a modern outfit.

Katrika Kaif’s ‘Teri Ore’ song from Singh is King. A red and black fireball outfit was a go-to for a playful look—a combo that every girl would want to wear once at a party.

In the K3G movie, Poo’s indo-western outfits were bang on, and people turned their eyes to watch her. Mixing desi style to a London chic look. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s look was a crop top with matching pants, mermaid cut lehengas, and front open kurtas in sheer fabrics.
