Turkish TikTok Star Kubra Aykut, who married herself, died by committing suicide at the age of 26.
In a devastating turn of events, popular Turkish TikTok influencer Kubra Aykut, widely known for her viral “Wedding Without a Groom” videos, tragically died by suicide at the age of 26. The incident occurred on September 23 in Istanbul, when Aykut reportedly fell from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment building in the Sultanbeyli district. Turkish media reports that a suicide note was found beside her body, and an investigation is currently underway, with the body sent for post-mortem.
Aykut’s funeral is expected to take place in her hometown as authorities continue their probe into the circumstances of her death.
Kubra Aykut’s Last Social Media Post
In the days leading up to her death, many of Kubra’s fans expressed concern about her increasingly somber social media posts. Just hours before her passing, she posted a heartfelt message about her struggles with weight loss, saying, “I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight.”

Kubra rose to fame on TikTok in 2023 with her distinctive and empowering “Wedding Without a Groom” series. In a bold move, she symbolically “married” herself in a stunning white gown and tiara, proclaiming, “I can’t find a worthy groom for myself.” Her content resonated deeply with her audience, and she quickly amassed over a million followers on TikTok and 207,000 on Instagram, where she frequently shared glimpses of her glamorous life.
A Tragic Reminder of Hidden Struggles
Despite her online persona of confidence and luxury, Kubra Aykut’s tragic death serves as a painful reminder that the battles some people face are often hidden behind their public image. As one fan poignantly expressed, “Rest in peace, beautiful.”
Her loss has left a void in the hearts of her millions of followers, and her story highlights the importance of mental health awareness, especially for those in the public eye.
