Siddhesh Lokare-Orry-The Reelstars

Content Creator Siddhesh Lokare, known for his inspiring content and voicing the concerns of those in need, is on a mission to raise funds for a school located 50 kilometres from Mumbai. For this initiative, he is reaching out to several celebrities and the first one in the list to whom he is seeking monetary help is viral sensation Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry.

On 23 March, Siddhesh, who calls himself ‘the guy with the sunflower energy’ revealed about his mission with a ‘First Episode’ video where he is seen talking to the principal of the school, who shares that more than 200 tribal students travel several kilometres to attend the school. However, they are missing out on basic needs like stationery, travelling expenses and food as their parents are daily wagers and cannot afford the extra expense. Later, Siddhesh decides to extend monetary help of Rs 50 lakh which can take care of these expenses for the next 5 years. In a novel twist, Siddhesh has decided to reach out to celebrities and reveal their names in the second episode.

Siddhesh wrote, “We are going to sponsor the education of this entire school! 50kms away from Mumbai, on the ghats of Panvel, I met Thakur sir who has been running this school called Shri Gnyanai school. 200+ tribal kids come here to study everyday. These kids trek everyday to the school for 5kms without any vehicle. Considering their bus, lunch, books, stationary, we need to take care of all this for 5 years. Which takes about *50 Lakh rupees.* Hence, we are going to raise funds from some mega internet celebrities! These names will be revealed in every episode. The 2nd episode will be dedicated to our first celebrity.”

In the second episode, uploaded on 25 March, he revealed that the first celebrity he has reached out to is Orry. He texted him on Instagram but said that Orry has turned off his chat. He is waiting for Orry’s reply and hoping that Orry will help him in the mission.

We wrote, “Ep 2: Sponsoring the education of this entire school! The 1st celebrity: Orry!(@orry ). Orry is know as a people person, ain’t I right? Though, we all have noticed him hyping, engaging and encouraging countless small pages/new creators. His empathy and humbleness are the qualities that make him Orry. He is not just a liver but a giver too! While not relating to his life, I do have learnt so many branding lessons from his narrative building abilities! With this opportunity and ask, we encourage him to sponsor our kids’ education and help us reach the 50Lakh mark. In this episode, we tried DMing Orry, reaching him through a studio and also went to the village for introducing these kids to this fresh world of content creation and social media. The ORRY test had all the answers except the one – “What does Orry do?”. Nonetheless, all that matters is WHAT CAN HE DO to help us reach the cause.”

So did Orry respond to the video?

Well, the answer is yes!

Orry denied turning off his DMs on Instagram but applauded Siddhesh for his initiative. Orry commented, “This is a lie, our DMs are open to all. But what an adorable initiative and idea this is ”

On 26 March, Siddhesh Lokare released his third episode to update about his mission and mentioned that he hasn’t received any response from Orry. Later in the video, he is seen talking to the students who share their struggle of walking 5 kms everyday to reach school.

Siddhesh wrote, “We reached out to Orry with your support and with 1000+ comments, Orry stumbled upon it and his response was adorable. As of now, we haven’t received any other response from their team but we are patient and excited to welcome his support! In this episode, we show you the reality of the lifestyle of these students and how they deal with life problems.” Siddhesh was adjudged Cosmopolitan Emerging Voice of The Year 2024 recently, and has been involved in social causes ever since he began his social media journey in 2020.

Well, let’s wait and watch if Orry, who is known to be ‘liver’, is also a ‘giver’.

Stay tuned to this space for more updates!
