Goa Govt Launches New Policy For Social Media Influencers

On 24th Jan, the Goa government announced a new policy for the empanelment of social media influencers. The “Social Media Influencers Policy” was launched by CM Pramod Sawant at the event in the presence of Delilah Lobo, the Vice Chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and Ankita Mishra, the CEO of ESG. The ESG will be the point of implementation for this initiative.

This new policy is intended to use the reach of digital creators for the promotion of various government schemes. The government and ESG have set up a portal to allow any Goan social media influencers to register if they want to participate. Registration is open until 14th Feb and will close at 5pm. Detailed guidelines and procedures are available on the ESG website as well.

Click on the link “here” to register for the Goa Social Media Influencers Policy.

Applicants must be residents of Goa and above the age of 18 to be eligible for the empanelment. Post-registration, all the applications will be evaluated based on factors like follower count and content quality. The ones who qualify will then be given a contract to work with the Goa government for one year.

In this age of social media, this initiative by the Goa government and ESG is a significant milestone that will make other institutions rethink their approach as well. Using the power of social media to promote government schemes, services and initiatives will be a more updated way to reach out to the newer generations. It will also be an effective way to bridge the current gap between these schemes and the beneficiaries they are intended for.
