Mum, Memories and Marmalade – Rahul Gandhi ends 2023 on a sweet note
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to YouTube on the last day of 2023 not to expound on politics or run down the governing political party, but simply to share some feel good memories, and to share a recipe!
Steering away from the hustle of politics and echoing the year end holiday mood, Rahul Gandhi put up a video showing him and his mother Sonia Gandhi, picking mandarin oranges, peeling them and stirring a pot of orange marmalade, straight from sister Priyanka Vadra’s recipe book. “Orange marmalade is my Mum’s favorite Jam and Priyanka has perfected the recipe over time. Now it’s my turn to fill these delightful jars of joy. Watch Mum and I as we try our hands at Jam-making,” he said.
Rahul said he learnt to dabble in the kitchen while studying in London, adding, “A huge amount of political fight has been about food. Gandhiji had a particular vision about food….he had a set of nutritional ideas.
The heartwarming video has Rahul and Sonia bottling the finished marmalade into tiny glass jars, labelling them, ‘With love from Sonia and Rahul’, presumably to be sent out to family and friends.
