Q: Tell us a little about where you are from and who you are.

Well, I’m a proud Indian from Arunachal Pradesh, but I’ve been a bit of a nomad, living in different parts of India before landing in Monterrey, Mexico. I’m Nabam Jully, and I live here with my wonderful Korean husband. We’re like an international dish—spicy, tangy, and sometimes a bit of a mystery! I’ve got a loving family back in India with my parents, brother, and two sisters. Oh, and I juggle content creation as a side hustle along with another job because, well, I like keeping life spicy!

Q: What made you want to create content? We love your videos!

Thank you, thank you! Honestly, I started creating content because I wanted to share my crazy, wonderful life with others. Living in different countries, being in a cross-cultural marriage, trying to figure out what’s for dinner—there’s just so much to talk about! Plus, who doesn’t love a good story? Especially when it involves cultural mishaps and food adventures.

Q: Tell us the story of how you met your Korean husband. Was it love at first sight?

Oh, this is a good one! We met in Chennai, India—he was working, and I was just a carefree college student in my second year. For him, it was love at first sight—he was smitten. For me, well, I was like, “Who is this foreigner, and what’s his deal?” It took me a bit to realize he wasn’t just a passing crush. Fast forward 8 years of dating, and voila, we’re married and still discovering new things about each other after 2 years of marriage. Turns out, love stories can start with a bit of skepticism!

Q: What made you move to South Korea? And why Mexico now?

I moved to Korea because of my husband’s work, and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to dive into K-culture and all that kimchi? We had an amazing time, but then Mexico called, and we answered! Now, we’re soaking up the sun, tacos, and vibrant culture here. Plus, I can never resist a good adventure, and Mexico is full of them!

Q: What are the biggest challenges you face as a content creator? How do you overcome them?

The biggest challenge? Finding time! Between my other job, content creation, and trying to keep my plants alive, it’s a juggling act. But I’ve learned to laugh at the chaos and keep going. I’ve got a secret weapon—lists. They’re like my little sidekicks in this adventure. And when all else fails, there’s always coffee. Lots of coffee.

Q: Do you think you would ever transition to a full-time content creator? Alone or with your husband?

Right now, content creation is my side gig, my creative outlet. But who knows? If the stars align (and my husband agrees to be my full-time co-star), maybe we’ll take the plunge together. For now, we’re having fun just playing it by ear and enjoying the ride.

Q: What are the challenges and rewards of being in a cross-cultural marriage? Have you faced any stereotypes or prejudices?

Ah, the joys of cross-cultural marriage—like figuring out which side of the bed belongs to which culture! The challenges? Definitely navigating the cultural differences, like trying to explain why Indian spices are essential in every dish. But the rewards are huge—we’ve learned so much from each other and grown closer through it all. As for stereotypes, yeah, we’ve heard a few, but we just smile and keep doing our thing. Life’s too short to worry about what others think!

Q: Is there any special memory from South Korea you want to share?

Oh, Jeju Island, where do I start? It was our little escape, like finding a piece of paradise in Korea. The island’s beauty is unmatched, and we had some of the best moments just soaking in the scenery and enjoying each other’s company. I mean, if you ever need a break from reality, Jeju is the place to go—just don’t forget your sunscreen!

Q: What is your current favourite experience in Mexico? Have you shared any content on it?

Mexico is full of surprises, and I’m loving every bit of it! Especially how similar it is to India in many ways—like the love for spicy food. Can you believe I found Naga chilli from Nagaland right here in Mexico? Same name and all! And they even eat dry meat, just like in Northeast India. It’s like a little piece of home away from home. Of course, I had to share this in my vlogs—it’s too good to keep to myself!

Q: Lastly, do you want to share any K-drama recommendations for our readers? What are your top 3 all-time favourites?

Here’s a plot twist—I don’t watch K-dramas much! I know, I know, shocking, right? Especially since I’m married to a Korean! But hey, I’ve seen a few that I liked. “Crash Landing on You” is a must for its unique plot, “Reply 1988” gives you all the nostalgic feels, and “Goblin” is just plain beautiful. But don’t quiz me too hard—I’m more likely to recommend a good Indian movie!
