Sadaa: Actress Found Influencer in Her Through Camera Lens
Read the wild story of actress Sadaa, from cinematic stardom to influencer life through wildlife conservation, veganism and sustainability.
Sadaa‘s full name is Sadaf Mohammed Sayed. After a successful cinema career, she started her social media channels. She shined the brightest when stepping away from the spotlight. Almost all of South India knows her for her roles in Indian cinema. Sadaa has spent over two decades in the film industry. But today, her story goes beyond acting. She’s a passionate wildlife photographer, a dedicated animal rights activist, and a voice for sustainable living.
Where did it Begin?
Sadaa’s acting career began in 2002 with the Telugu film Jayam, directed by Teja, where she starred alongside Nithiin. Her talent quickly earned her recognition in Tamil and Kannada cinema. She acted with notable performances in movies like Anniyan, Varnajalam, and Priyasaki. By 2010, she had already worked in over 40 films, including her Bollywood debut in Love Khichdi with Randeep Hooda. However, her on-screen presence gradually reduced. Photography was her escape choice, and her love for animals made way for a deeper passion: wildlife photography.
Sadaa’s Wild Side
During a film shoot in Panna, Madhya Pradesh, Sadaa first discovered her love for capturing the wild. By October 2021, she turned this hobby into a serious pursuit. From photographing leopards and tigers to a rare black panther named Shyama in Pench National Park, Sadaa’s photos have earned her a dedicated following. She often shares her stunning shots on Instagram (sadaa_wildlifephotography) and her YouTube channel, Sadaa’s Green Life.
Baby Chick Changed Way of Life
Sadaa’s journey into veganism began in 2012, sparked by a simple yet profound incident. She rescued a baby chick from a group of children and realised its behaviour was no different from that of her pet cats. This small moment led her to stop eating meat. By 2017, after watching videos exposing the harsh realities of the Indian dairy industry, she gave up dairy products, too. She speaks strongly about the trauma animals face in these industries, describing it as a cycle of pain that no creature should endure.
She’s a believer in sustainable and cruelty-free living. As an ethical vegan and a minimalist, her perspective on life has evolved tremendously over the past few years. She’s been sharing her journey with us through her YouTube channel, Sadaa’s Green Life, which has over 504K followers. She is inspiring positive changes in thousands of people’s lives. She’s also a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady and a devoted plant enthusiast! So, follow her channel for some fun content with her adorable cats, plants, tips, and recipes.
Sadaa’s life isn’t just about acting or photography.
Sadaa’s passion for animal rights extends to her role as the brand ambassador for India’s Veganuary movement. She encourages others to embrace veganism, even during traditional celebrations like Pongal and Makar Sankranti. For her, festivals can be just as joyous with cruelty-free choices. Her favourite is Puran Poli, a sweet dish she enjoys in a vegan-friendly way.
Her values also guide her personal life. In a recent interaction with fans, Sadaa shared her thoughts on marriage, saying she believes relationships should be built on mutual respect and understanding. She also mentioned that her future partner must share her vegetarian lifestyle.
Sadaa’s journey is as inspiring as it is unique. From a celebrated actress to a wildlife photographer and vegan advocate, she has shown that one’s true passion is always feasible and possible.
