Born into a family where his father was the only earning member, meeting even basic needs was a challenge. Shekar, with his disability, faced hurdles that seemed impossible and I feel it’s not even correct for life to throw such struggles at him. But what makes someone who they are, other than the struggles, problems and challenges?

He refused to be defined by pity or his physical constraints. “Disabled but not defeated,” he proclaims, a mantra that now echoes within his 108K Instagram followers, worshippers too!

Not So Humble Start!

Shekar began his journey into content creation in 2018 with a basic Celkon mobile worth just INR 2,000 and a free Jio 4G SIM, thanks to the free sim stunt. With the relentless support of his friends, they launched a gaming channel on YouTube together. His friends helped with everything from setting up the equipment to handling tasks Shekar physically couldn’t manage. Their hard work bore fruit as the channel gained its first 500 subscribers after five months, initially, this was a milestone for the team.

However, as always, life had other plans. As things were picking up, Shekar had to pause his content creation to prepare for his Class 10 board exams. But even here, obstacles piled up. Citing his disability, his school denied him a hall ticket, refusing even to provide the support he desperately needed, a writer for the exams. Despite his requests and pleas, nothing changed. Shekar was left behind and others moved forward in their academic journeys. His education and dreams were halted.

Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, the world shook and worried with uncertainties. With the encouragement of his friends, Shekar resumed content creation. His genuine efforts touched his audience and showered him with love and recognition. The gaming channel reached 1,00,000 followers. Little did he know about the upcoming challenges, the post-pandemic shifts in the digital landscape slowed his momentum. Friends and in-life supporters jumped back to their growing responsibilities and drifted away. The loneliness crushed Shekar and the future seemed tragic.

Months of depression and darkness overpowered and soon Shekar realised he needed to rebuild himself. He decided to learn video editing, a skill that required minimal physical effort but immense creative input. His parents, witnessing his struggle, gifted him a new mobile phone and urged him to chase his passion. With time, patience, and stubborn determination, Shekar mastered video editing and began teaching himself motion graphics and other advanced techniques.

When he felt ready, he reached out to his friends with a simple yet powerful message: “I am back and ready to create again. Are you with me?” Their immediate supportive response was the beginning of a new chapter.

Shekar uploaded his first Instagram video on November 24, 2023, . The video slowly gained traction. Post by post, his audience grew and within just 60 posts, Shekar gathered over 100K followers. His content is predominantly focused on video editing tips and techniques. Sometimes, he also uploads motivational videos that stand out in their genuineness and depth. A close friend dubs his videos, while Shekar speaks to the best of his ability; not everyone can understand him.

One of his standout videos is on Retention Editing. In this video, he breaks down techniques to keep viewers hooked: fast cuts, contrasting footage, impactful sound effects and pacing that keeps audiences engaged. Shekar’s videos cover everything from shooting for Instagram to crafting complicated edits, making tricky concepts accessible even to beginners.
