Two Delhi-based influencers faced online backlash for their behaviour during a flight. The duo, Varun Yadav and Aarush Bhola, reportedly played loud music onboard, disturbing fellow passengers. They recorded the act and shared it on social media with the caption “Hawa meh bhi badmashi” (Mischief even in the air), quickly drawing widespread attention.

The video is said to have gone viral, attracting over 15.6 million views. However, the response from viewers has been largely negative. The influencers face accusations of irresponsibility, with comments labelling their actions a “public nuisance.” Many have expressed frustration, stating that such behaviour is unacceptable in shared spaces. Remarks like “Public nuisance is not content. Be better” have highlighted the dissatisfaction of netizens.

The incident has drawn SpiceJet, the airline involved, into the discussion, with many questioning whether the airline acted against the influencers for disrupting the flight experience. This incident has led to concerns about how airlines manage similar situations.

This is not an isolated case, as critics have also called out other influencers for creating disruptive content in public places, including a recent incident where a Hyderabad-based influencer caused a scene at a mall. Observers have noted a pattern of influencers prioritising online clout over civic responsibility.

The online backlash has highlighted the need for greater accountability among influencers. Many believe that such actions set a poor example, especially for younger audiences who may view these individuals as role models.

This incident has opened discussions about the boundaries of acceptable behaviour in public spaces and the responsibilities of having a social media platform. Authorities have implemented stricter guidelines for public conduct to prevent such occurrences in the future.
