New Online Gaming Regulation under Indian Information Technology Act
The landscape of gaming in the country has undergone a seismic shift, propelled by technological advancements, widespread internet access, and a burgeoning community of avid gamers. From the adrenaline rush of battle royales to the strategic conquests of esports, the online gaming industry is not just growing; it’s evolving into a cultural phenomenon.
With the gaming industry in India growing, the industry is trying to level up and match international standards as well. New rules are being implemented to help spur innovation and to boost investor confidence. Gamers also believe that these rules will help in weeding out a lot of gambling platforms. The norms will help build a more stable environment in the gaming business and regulate it, according to the Al India Gaming Federation.
WinZO games believes this will immensely help propel a new stage for the Indian global gaming industry. The rules released by the government prohibit betting and wagering in online games. Self-regulatory organisations are publishing a framework that will protect gamers from the risk of financial loss and gaming addiction. One of the features will include repeated warning messages being sent to users who seem to be at risk for any such situation.
The All India Gaming Federation says that the regulation of online gaming under the Indian Information Technology Act will promote positive interest in the community. It will also curb the menace of illegal gambling sites which have been a problem for them.
