Runner Kiran Pahal to Shine at the Paris Olympics 2024 - The Reelstars

Kiran Pahal is India’s 400-meter runner, representing herself at the Paris Olympics 2024. She is a 24-year-old sprinter who hails from Rohtak, Haryana. Pahal qualified as an Indian athlete for the Paris Olympics 2024, a milestone in her career.
Surprisingly, it’s her birthday today, 5 August 2000, and her 400m run too.
In 2018, Pahal came into the limelight by becoming the second Indian athlete to finish a sub-51-second time in the 400m event in 2024, while Hima Das’s national record was 50.79 seconds at the Asian Games.

Personal Life:

Kiran Pahal is from the small village of Ganaur in the Sonepat district of Haryana. Her family was financially struggling, as her father, Om Prakash, was the only one earning until he passed away in 2022 after a prolonged illness. Maya Devi, her mother, worked hard to serve her family, but there were many economic challenges.
Going against all odds, Pahal continued her athletic career even while she faced societal opposition. However, she received immense support from Hima Das, the senior athlete. With her determination and the guidance of her coach, Akaash Chikara, Pahal is currently training without any sponsors.

Her athletic journey:

Kiran Pahal’s athletic career has been filled with numerous challenges and significant achievements. In 2022, a month after her father’s death, she won a gold medal in the 400 m at the Inter-State Athletics with a time frame of 51.84 seconds. Her dedicated performance in Panchkula as she finished the run clocking 53.44 seconds, secured her 2nd place.
Pahal’s last run was 8 months before this championship when her record was 56.03 seconds. It was a comeback from a persistent hamstring injury.
At the National Inter-State Athletics Championships in Panchkula on 27 June, 2024, her run was completed in 50.92 seconds; a remarkable achievement.
Pahal participated in national camps during her career but struggled due to injuries and financial weakness. She is now trained under coach Ashish Singh Chhikara. Previously she trained with coach Rohtas Siwach, who was involved in controversies.

Inspite of a lot of hardships, Kiran Pahal is focused on her career as an athelte and is aiming to give her best in the upcoming competitions. She is going to participate in the Women’s 400m run today, 5 August 2024, at 3:57 PM IST at the Paris Olympics 2024. Stay tuned to watch her run!
