1 Billion Followers Summit Kicks Off in Dubai
The second edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit is being held in Dubai on January 10th and 11th this year. Considered the largest creator event on a global scale, there are over 3000 content creators and influencers coming together for it.
The two-day summit is being held at the Museum of the Future and Emirates Towers. The event is being organized by New Media Academy, the dedicated digital media institution unlike any other in the Middle East. Click HERE to view the Agenda for each day, as listed by the organizers.
Renowned content creators take center stage to share their expertise and experiences, unlocking the secrets to success in the ever-evolving digital realm. The summit’s visionary goal is to not only transform emerging talents into influencers but also to create meaningful and sustainable content that resonates across diverse social media platforms.
In a session titled “A Creator’s Guide to a Healthy Mind,” the discussion zooms in on the crucial link between social media use and mental health. Saudi TV presenter Rajeh Al-Harthi advises creators to navigate the tide of trends and avoid negative commentary.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced that he will be setting up a fund of Dh150 million with the aim of supporting influencers. This news from the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai around the same time as the summit comes as exciting news for established and well as aspiring creators. According to the Minster of Cabinet Affairs Al Gergawi, the fund will help solidify the position of the UAE as a global capital for content creators.
Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also attended Day 1 of the summit and took to Instagram to share her support for it. “I attended the launch of the 1 Billion Followers Summit in its second edition, the first specialised summit for content creation and the largest-of-its-kind in the world. This summit, with its 7,000 participants, 100 digital production agencies, and 195 expert speakers, reinforces the national creative economy strategy and expands the scope of opportunities provided by this promising sector. It reflects #Dubai‘s commitment to empowering innovators and creative minds, cementing the UAE’s position as a global capital for digital content creation,” she captioned. As the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, her active support for such events leaves a big impression on new-age citizens in the Middle East and around the world.
