Chittorgarh School CCTV Actors Mistaken For Influencer
Read how one influencer's photo was falsely linked to a viral scandal, a viral video led to a teacher's suspension and more!
A CCTV clip from a government school in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, recently shook social media. The footage allegedly showed a female teacher and the school principal engaged in inappropriate acts. As expected, outrage followed, and both individuals were swiftly suspended by the Rajasthan education department.
The controversy just started and gained momentum as an image collage started circulating. Some users claimed that the woman in the viral CCTV video was the same one seen in these images. This sparked confusion, and false narratives began spreading like wildfire.
Continue reading to unveil what exactly happened.
The False Accusation
A social media user named PK Yadav shared a suspension letter alongside a woman’s photograph, declaring that she was the teacher in question.
Another user, Hemant Kumar, posted the same claim on Facebook, further adding fuel to the fire. Soon, multiple posts emerged, all asserting that these were the two teachers involved in the viral scandal.
But was this true?
The Fact Check
The image being shared wasn’t of any teacher from Rajasthan. Instead, it belonged to Mini Golchha, an influencer from Madhya Pradesh. Someone uploaded her photo, and checking her Instagram and Facebook profiles confirmed that she was a content creator with no connection to the Chittorgarh incident.
Further evidence surfaced later. Mini had posted a reel where she was sitting in the same spot and wearing the same outfit as seen in the falsely circulated image. This undeniably confirmed that people took her photo from the reel without consent to spread misinformation.
The Influencer Speaks Out
Mini Golchha discovered the misuse of her image and expressed her distress on Instagram stories. She denied any involvement and revealed that she had already filed a police complaint against those responsible for the misleading posts.
The rush to react
This case is another reminder of how quickly false information can spread online. In the rush to react, many fail to verify facts, leading to innocent people being dragged into scandals they have nothing to do with.
While the actual case in Chittorgarh raises serious questions about conduct in educational institutions, falsely accusing an innocent person is equally dangerous. Misinformation can destroy reputations overnight, and it’s high time people think before they share.
