That’s not all – there are Special Selection Awards, too, honouring lifetime achievements and remarkable contributions.
Create in India Challenges: Unleashing Talent
To inspire creativity, three new challenges under the Create in India initiative have been announced:
Wah Ustad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has conceptualised this challenge, fulfilling the dreams of classically trained vocalists. The Dilli Gharana is driving this initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and public broadcaster Doordarshan. This two-phase competition is open to participants aged 18 and above, including international artists. The grand finale will be held at WAVES 2025, and registrations are now open on the Prasar Bharati website.
Make The World Wear Khadi: A creative challenge inviting advertising professionals and fashion influencers to turn Khadi into a global brand. From digital and print to video and experiential marketing, the challenge is open to global participants who can think outside the box and take Khadi’s brand image to the next level.
Resonate, The EDM Challenge: If Electronic Dance Music is your calling, this one’s for you! Hosted by the Indian Music Association (IMA), it’s open to EDM artists, composers, musicians, and performers worldwide.
That’s not all. The organisers have announced a slew of these new challenges to promote India’s cultural heritage and tourism, inviting creators and filmmakers to showcase India’s vibrant cultural fabric to a global audience.
Why WAVES Matters?
With over 70,000 registrations and 31 Create in India Challenges already launched, WAVES is a vibrant ecosystem of creativity and innovation. Of these, 25 challenges are still open for registration, and 22 attract global participation.
