iPhone 16 Reviews From Indian YouTubers: Worth The Price Tag?

Apple just unveiled its latest iPhones—the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—during the “It’s Glowtime” special event. In India, the base iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus maintain the same pricing as their predecessors, while the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max are available at a slightly reduced price. Pre-orders for all four iPhone models—the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—will commence on September 13, with sales starting on September 20 in India.

Indian YouTubers have been discussing the iPhone 16 since its launch. The excitement for the iPhone 16 is visible in the air, as Indian YouTubers are going all in discussing the iPhone 16 models’ features, pros, cons, upgrades, costs, and more. Here’s what the reviews are saying:

Kiran Nagar

Kiran Nagar runs Techy Kiran, the YouTube handle. She conducted a review of the iPhone 16, outlining the rationale for discarding the iPhone 15. In her YouTube reel, she discusses the significant upgrades that Apple has implemented in the iPhone 16 in comparison to the previous model. Her key pointers include the following.

The new model features an upgraded chipset, transitioning from the A16 Bionic Chipset to the A18 Bionic Chipset. The new model features integrated Apple intelligence. The iPhone 16 replaces the previous mute button with an action button. Additionally, there is a new camera control button that, when pressed, will directly launch the camera application. Sliding this button allows for zooming in and out. The increase in battery size has received positive feedback, particularly regarding the 25-watt MagSafe upgrade. Additionally, the device will operate at 60 Hz, and USB 2.0 with Type C will be functional.

Gaurav Chaudhary

YouTube’s very own Technical Guruji, Gaurav Chaudhary, attended the Glowtime event and talked about the new Apple product launch from the Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California. Holding the phones in his hand, he gives an up-close take on the newly launched model.

The YouTuber believes the new phone, available in various colours such as black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine, has brought a fresh taste to the market. He notes that the screen is 6.1 inches, while the Plus model is 6.7 inches. He praises the A18 chip’s 6-core CPU, 16-core NPU, and 5-core GPU for performance. Gaurav discusses the action button, camera control, and matte glass coating, which prevents fingerprints. The iPhone 16’s vertical camera allows for Vision Pro viewing, unlike the diagonal setup of the 13, 14, and 15 models. The camera has undergone an upgrade, boasting a 48 MP main camera and an ultra camera that supports autofocus. Gaurav talks about how the price is the same: INR 79,900 for the 16 and INR 89,900 for the 16 Plus.

He reviews the PRO and Pro Max. Gaurav notes it has the largest iPhone display, measuring 6.3″ and 6.9″. He highlights the durability of the titanium build and an upgraded ceramic screen shield. The A18 Pro chip brings a significant camera upgrade. The PRO phones feature a significant audio upgrade with 4 studio-quality microphones and a low-noise floor. Selecting an audio mode after recording is possible. In India, model prices start at INR 15,000 less. 16 Pro: INR 1,19,900; 16 Pro Plus: INR 1,44,900. He concludes by stating that Apple developed the phones from the ground up utilizing Apple Intelligence, integrating a comprehensive set of writing tools, advanced features, and an expanding series of smart capabilities.

Arun Prabhudesai

Arun Prabhudesai, the Trakin Tech guy, attended the Apple iPhone 16 launch event. He reviewed the new model in a video, highlighting its pros and cons. The display size of 16 remains unchanged. A second-generation ceramic shield is installed. It still features a 60Hz display, he states. The A18 chip offers a nearly 30% performance boost. The 3nm technology enhances power efficiency, using 30% less power than the A16 Bionic. He highlights the camera upgrade: a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide with autofocus for macro shots and videos. Arun praises the new camera hardware button for its versatility, providing action and capture control while enhancing battery life.

Thinner bezels have led to a larger display size for the Pro models. The display size is 6.3″ for the Pro model and 6.9″ for the Pro Max. He thinks PRO models have more curves than previous versions. The A18 PRO Bionic chip enhances performance. He suggests that the pro models are suitable for gamers. Arun values the 3rd Gen USB Type C in PRO models for improved read, write, and data transfer speeds. He highlights the 16 pro and pro max camera upgrades: a 48MP ultrawide with autofocus, a 48MP primary sensor, and a 12MP telephoto. Arun is excited that you can now shoot in 4K at 120FPS with Raw, LOG, and ProRes modes. He praises the capture and audio control upgrade features.

He found Apple Intelligence underwhelming, as nothing innovative is available at the moment. The coming months will see the release of new features, but some current tools, like the writing, EMOJI, and photo tools, are already effective. His video “iPhone 16 & iPhone 16 Pro Hands On & First Look Capture Button, A18 Pro & More” is currently trending at #23 on YouTube, with 1.3M views and 51K likes.

Sanchit Shokeen

The reviewer begins by noting a positive aspect of the model’s design, highlighting the increased vibrancy and saturation of colours. The reviewer also acknowledges the availability of standard white and black options as a beneficial feature. He adds that he likes the camera module’s darker shade and vertical layout. Sanchit talks about the action and capture buttons on the iPhone 16, as well as how the capture button is not a physical button but works on a touch function. He highlights how the A18 chip increases the model’s performance by 30% compared to the earlier model. He emphasizes that while the earlier phone models did face heating issues, the 16 and 16+ models now come with a thermal sheet to prevent this problem.

The ability to play AAA title games on the phone, as well as the inclusion of rate racing support in the 16 and 16+ models, appeal to him. The 60Hz features are slightly underwhelming, while the new launch has everything else going for it. He mentions that the charging speed has increased, but the MagSafe feature is not included. It can charge at 25 watts wirelessly. This is artificial intelligence, also known as Apple Intelligence. He discusses the writing tool and emphasizes the remarkable ability to create emojis simply by mentioning the type of emoji you desire. He also emphasizes the evolution of Siri’s animation and the expectation that it will now converse more naturally, akin to a human using AI. With Apple Intelligence, the new phones will allow you to manage notifications.

The Visual Intelligence addition will function as a Google lens, displaying the details of any picture you click. He talks about the upgrade to the 16 cameras and how macro photography is possible. He commends the coating for its ability to reduce lens flare. Sanchit also discusses pricing and how, despite having the latest processor, the 16 and 16 plus models support USB 2.0.

Sanchit On iPhone Pro and Pro Max

Coming to the Pro and Pro Max models, he discusses their size and how the bezels have been reduced. Sanchit discusses the new arrival of the desert titanium colour, which boasts a bronze/gold look, and remarks that it looks good. He expects the Pro series to perform solidly due to the implementation of the A118 pro chipset, which enhances processor efficiency. Apple asserts that, in comparison to all other models of this phone, the Pro variant offers the highest battery backup. Sanchit further emphasizes the telephoto enhancement to 5x in the Pro and Pro Max models. According to him, the biggest change is that in these pro variants, you can shoot in 4K120 frames per second. ProRes and Dolby Vision are also compatible with 4K120.

Additionally, he focuses on the 4 studio-quality mics. He emphasizes how you can alter the vocals in a video, separate the background noise, adjust the volume of the voice or music using layers, and more. Everything is possible. The audio mix features are top-notch. The capture control and artificial intelligence features are also available here. When it comes to the price, the YouTuber can’t help but smile, revealing that the Pro model is now less expensive than the previous PRO phone. Finally, he details the pricing and describes the price drop as good news.
