Instagram Levels Up the Game: Creator Milestones Earn You Cool Badges!

Instagram is making moves to keep creators engaged with a fresh approach – introducing “Achievements” in the “Creator Mode.” This nifty addition allocates badges for various engagement milestones, such as hitting 100 post likes or 1,000 video plays.

Now, let’s break it down. These Achievements are displayed in the “Your Tools” section of the “Professional Dashboard,” exclusively for those rocking a Creator Account. According to Instagram, creators can bag different badges based on metrics like post likes, Reels plays, accounts reached with Stories, follower count, and lifetime numbers of posts, Reels, and Stories.

Special Achievement badges await those creators who:

  • Collaborate with others using Instagram Collabs or remix a reel
  • Use interactive stickers on their reels (think Add Yours, polls, quizzes, or questions)
  • Use trending audio or effects in Reels
  • Post more than one reel in a week

In a nutshell, Instagram is game-ifying the content creation process. By handing out these virtual badges, the platform hopes to entice creators to keep the content flowing.

Will it work? in-app gamification can be oddly compelling. Snap users have maintained streaks for years, turning it into a near-sacred experience.

This isn’t a new concept for Instagram – the platform has been testing this feature for over a year, and now, with the holiday season approaching, it seems they’ve decided to roll out the awards to more accounts.

Yet another Bengali girl in Bengaluru, Anusuya is an experienced content specialist with 12+ years of experience. Currently the content manager at OneNative Studio, she thrives on being hands-on in the creative process; from writing compelling articles & blogs to crafting engaging social media posts & website copy. When not meeting deadlines, she enjoys Pinterest-planning her next trips; to explore new cities and immerse herself in local cultures, especially local food. Choosing a degree in Tourism was a no-brainer, while the writing came naturally with years of her nose being buried in books.
