Instagram wheels out the Purple Badge VIP experience
This for all the Instagram users out there! There’s some exciting news. Last year, they introduced Instagram subscriptions for creators in the US, allowing them to offer exclusive content and connect with their most dedicated followers while earning a monthly income. And guess what? They’re taking this show on the road! In the coming weeks, creators in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, and the UK will join the party. Plus, they plan to roll it out globally soon.
The Instagram paid subscription feature, allowing content creators to charge followers for exclusive content, has appeared in India as well. Users can subscribe to creators for monthly fees of Rs 89, Rs 440, and Rs 890, while in the US, pricing ranges from $0.99 to $99.99 per month. Subscribers get a purple badge, along with access to exclusive live videos and stories. Currently, Indian creators can’t monetize this way, but Indian users can subscribe to US-based creators.
So, what’s in it for you? As a subscriber, you get VIP treatment:
- Subscribers get their very own content buffet: Posts, Stories, Reels, and Live sessions just for them. It’s like a VIP club!
- Exclusive stories are automatically saved to a special highlight reel. No missing out for subscribers!
- Get fancy with Subscriber Broadcast and Social Channels – offer the good stuff only to the inner circle.
- And don’t forget Subscriber Badges – so you know who’s showing the support!
