Mark Zuckerberg Upgrades WhatsApp Channels; Polls, Voice Updates!
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announces new features for WhatsApp Channels.
According to the company, there are 500 million+ users active on the thousands of Channels live right now. Hence, this upgrade comes in time to generate more activity for WhatsApp. The new update will allow WhatsApp Channels to share polls to their users. Users will also be able to share the updates from a particular channel on their personal Status. The voice notes feature has also been added to WhatsApp Channels.
“We’re announcing a bunch of new features for WA channels including voice notes, multiple admins and sharing to status and polls, which is great because I need help settling a debate.”- Mark Zuckerberg.
While voice notes could only be sent on private chats before this, the update allows Channels to share voice messages to their followers as well. This will allow a more personalized experience to connect with users. Bad Bunny’s Channel was the first to send voice updates after the feature was released.
Zuckerberg asked users to vote on a poll for “best game of all time.”
The new updates include a feature where Channels can now share polls for followers to answer. So, anyone with a Channel can post a question to get answers from their users in the simplest format.
The official Channel for Mumbai Indians also commented on these updates and shared that they were excited to use it for connecting with fans. It will allow them to generate more excitement for games and gain better support as well.
Another new feature allows up to 16 admins to be added for a Channel. This will enhance the administration functionality of these Channels and make it easier to manage.
Since most people use WhatsApp to share information on their personal WhatsApp, allowing them to add Channel updates to their Status is also a great way to facilitate better sharing.
WhatsApp Channels have quickly become one of the easiest and most popular ways for businesses, politicians, digital creators, and more to constantly reach out to their followers.
