WhatsApp woos businesses with new features

At the Global Conversations event by WhatsApp in Mumbai in September 2023, they’ve announced some exciting new features to enhance your chat experience with businesses.

Faster Chat Experiences with Flows:

They’re introducing “Flows” that allow businesses to offer more convenient services within the chat itself. This means you can quickly do things like choosing your train seat, ordering a meal, or booking an appointment without leaving the chat. Businesses can create interactive menus and forms to cater to your specific needs. These Flows will roll out worldwide on the WhatsApp Business Platform soon.

Choose Your Payments Service:

In India, you can now shop and pay directly in the chat. Add items to your cart and make payments using various methods like UPI apps, debit/credit cards, and more. They’re partnering with Razorpay and PayU to simplify the payment process.

Meta Verified Businesses on WhatsApp:

WhatsApp is teaming up with Meta to offer verification to businesses. This verification ensures you’re talking to the genuine business. Verified businesses will get a special badge, enhanced account support, and protection against impersonation. They’re also adding premium features like a customizable WhatsApp page for web search and multi-device support for employees to respond to customers. This Meta Verified feature will initially be tested with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app before expanding to others in the future.

These new features, says WhatsApp, aim to enhance customer service and strengthen the connection between businesses and users.

Yet another Bengali girl in Bengaluru, Anusuya is an experienced content specialist with 12+ years of experience. Currently the content manager at OneNative Studio, she thrives on being hands-on in the creative process; from writing compelling articles & blogs to crafting engaging social media posts & website copy. When not meeting deadlines, she enjoys Pinterest-planning her next trips; to explore new cities and immerse herself in local cultures, especially local food. Choosing a degree in Tourism was a no-brainer, while the writing came naturally with years of her nose being buried in books.
